Yikes. I thought Briggs was brutal and Tillman and Fuller were good.

Sources indicate #Bears C Roberto Garza has suffered a high ankle sprain. No word yet on how long he could be sidelined.

No rush.

Those take a while to heal - generally 4-6 weeks according to Google.

At first glance, i thought Briggs had a decent game. I thought he looked noticeably faster. I thought that Dixon run was on Bostic, and the game-winner on Mundy. But those are both on Briggs after seeing still photos. Mundy clearly had the QB on the read option play. Briggs should have been able to keep his feet and slide down the line on the Jackson run.

[expletive] what has happened to him? I'd rather see DJ/Bostic as the nickel LBs at this point. I also thought the CBs were decent. A lot of passes completed were up the seam against the Cover 2, which is the textbook way to beat that scheme. Not on the CBs. Not sure what else could be other than Jennings not getting his head turned very early in the game.

Here's the gap Briggs was supposed to be in: http://t.co/EGwzA7mYzJ

@adamhoge

Here's where he ended up: http://t.co/fXN0WhJLtA

It's very likely that he was out of position on that play, but it should be noted that the Bills ran a read option on that play. It's possible, but not likely, that Briggs' responsibility on the was to tackle the QB, which he was heading into position to do. If that's so, other players have the RB responsibility on read option. Again, unlikely, but it's hard to cherry pick plays to show guys out of position without knowing how they were trying to defend the play as an entire unit.

Apparently the Jay Cutler show on ESPN 1000 is about to start....earlier this year.

yeah its on at 2 this year, but apparently they will replay in its entirety at 5 each week

Briggs was out until 4 AM on Friday night buying shots. Fine, just don't play like crap.

Briggs is probably going to be the latest Chicago sports guy to be run out of town by a lynch mob.

This is the kind of news that never would have made the light of day if the pitchforks weren't already out.

That said, he appears done as a football player.

If we're going to run our stars out, I'd prefer it happens when they're being lazy drunks.

Nah, you can see Mundy out on the edge in the photo. He clearly has the QB. Briggs F'd up bad.

like, from the snap or eventually as the play broke down?

The way I heard it talked about on the radio, sounds like from the snap.

I'll give him some slack since its his third week on the team, but between that and half the Bears secondary playing zone and the other playing man on the most critical play of last season, this team is pretty stupid.

Sunday's box score shows that Jay Cutler threw two interceptions and his team lost to the Bills. What it doesn't show is just how much of a nightmare Cutler inflicted on his team's chances. According to data from Brian Burke of Advanced Football Analytics, Cutler was responsible for three of the top six most detrimental plays in the NFL on Sunday.

MVP! MVP! He's the fourth best player on his team's side of the ball.

that's more or less why I'm so down. I thought Cutler played up to every criticism about his game.

It looked to me like he got jammed and then gave up because the timing was screwed, but I could be wrong.

I didn't know about the advanced analysis, but it's been a long time since I've felt that bad about his play.

How in [expletive]'s name did Briggs rate a positive number? He got blown off the ball the entire first half and made the very well dissected horrible read in the second. Losing respect for PFF's system.

these ratings, especially in one game, have to be taken with a large grain of salt.

I guess they are statical noise? I really respect and enjoy learning about advanced metrics, but the more I look at them in terms of predicting football outcomes the more I wonder about the methodology. Example - was Rodgers really a worse QB than Kapernick last season (per Football Outsiders' DVOA, he was). Luck was only the 14th best QB in the league last season? I guess that's all possible, just doesn't seem probable.

One thing barely anyone is talking about is the fact that Khaseem Greene was listed as inactive for the game.

This likely means yet another bad Emery draft pick and adds to the discussion that he has absolutely no idea how to draft defensive players.
