I've watched the video of Solers 2 homers like 100 time this morning. So awesome

They don't play the game the right way.

I wonder if Soler plays a normal schedule next year or if they continue to sit him every few days like they have this year.

As long as he's healthy I'd expect him to play at least 150+/- games. ~10 games off, if done right, around scheduled off days should give him more than enough rest if they are worried about him wearing down or whatever.

Am I missing a joke here?

No, I'm glad they want to keep the guy playing but how long do they go on sitting him every 3 days? How's that not a legit question?

He's battled nagging injuries and was in the minors where games don't count. Why would you expect him to sit in the majors?

I'm assuming that's why he's sitting the first game of is double header today. Looks like they are taking the same approach as in the minors.

they might push him to play a few more games so he is able to break all of the all-time single-season records

Yep. He might not break the 30 WAR mark but at least take a run at 20.

It's not like these August and September games count either. Hopefully next year will be a different story.

So he's not in the lineup again today... :(

although I guess he did technically play in a game yesterday even if he didn't play in both *sigh* I will miss him dearly

Soler: "I don’t control the lineup, but it’s hard when you’re ready and you don’t see your name in the lineup. I’m ready every single day.”

Through an interpreter, Soler said he's ready to play every day even though #Cubs are giving him scheduled days off after hamstring issues.

I'd rather take it easy with soler. ~140 games.
