Darvish is signed for 3Y/31M He could get TJS tomorrow, spend half of '16 recovering and still be a steal on that contract.

More seriously, if they can get reasonable assurance that Darvish is not damaged goods, then he's really really valuable at 3/30. Especially if there were some indication that he would be open to an extension(rip up the current deal and give him 4-5 years at higher AAV). With the arm issues and only 3 years they won't get any of the top of the list, but Alcantara, Almora, on down would all be available for me.

Side note: 8 year, $120M contracts to Elvis Andrus that doesn't even kick in until 2015 are bad enough to get a GM fired.

 

 

Also, if they trade Darvish now and assuming that no money changes hands in the deal, Texas will have paid around $74M for 2.8 years of his services. Yowza.

Andrus has a ton of defensive value but not much offensive value. they should look to flip him for some hitting.
