Don't get your panties in a bunch. I looked it up and I was wrong.

Edit: whoops I said coming back to earth. Tailing off and coming back down to earth are two different things. I retract my admission of wrongness.

He'll be fine. Or he won't. I'm not going to worry about it until next season.

It must really rankle you Javy Busters that Javy Baez is more successful than you'll ever be. He's better paid, more well-liked, probably had more and better gals then you, and when it's all said and done and it's in the history books he will be remembered as a good player. And no one will remember you.

I'm not going to worry about it until 2016. He's too young, too cheap and has too high of an upside to warrant anything other than an extremely long leash. Even if he struggles again next year, I just don't think that Javy is going to fall that far below the low bar of a modern MLB average 2B to get worked up over as a liability or albatross to the lineup next year.

I saw that earlier today. Not really anything noteworthy said there, although I thought the author's (paraphrased) statement that Baez's numbers are "clear evidence that he was rushed to the majors, despite destroying AAA" was kind of silly, especially given how he has struggled to start every level and then adjusted just fine.

If he's flailing away by the ASB of next year at the pace he is now, you should worry. I don't think he will though.

There was an interesting article about what Sheffield thinks is wrong with Javy today. Something about his back leg collapsing. Link: http://es.pn/1CidcTa. Mueller made some comment about how they are happy with the damage he's doing on pitches in the zone. Lately he's been whiffing on clearly hittable pitches right down the middle though. I think pitch recognition is 90% of the problem but mechanics could be a smaller part of the problem.

i won't worry until he breaks the single season strikeout record

ehhh, i don't see why we should jump off the bandwagon in may
