The tiered playoff system is the best thing MLB has ever come up with.

You reward the best teams, but also give tons of other teams something to play for. There's probably 10 teams playing meaningful baseball right now that wouldn't be under the 8-team system, including the A's and Angels.

And not only that, but you get to open the playoffs with a pair of elimination games, which is awesome.

Yeah, it's [expletive] great.

The only thing that would make things even better would be a DH in the NL.

Yuuuuuuuuuup. I'm convinced that anyone that thinks it's bad just doesn't understand how it works and simply assumed "different = I hate it."

And I just want the DH to be added to the NL already; I grew up thinking the opposite, but I'd rather have it the same across the board, and there's zero chance the DH goes away. Plus the Cubs could have kept Aramis, dammit.

one of the greatest things about it is being able to watch some dude who cant run around in the field anymore continue to smash dingers

I didn't like the 2nd WC at first because I didn't want this to become more like the NBA, but I really like how it's turned out. It needs to stop at 10 teams though.

I know, right? It ideally lets your team keep at least one beloved slugger well past when they could have if they were in the NL. That alone makes it awesome.

oh just saw wehre he said he's a 1B lmao kyle

He's a terrible outfielder, he'll end up at 1b. I'm just ahead of the curve.

I assume this is a joke? Springer is good on defense.

UZR/150 has him 21st out of 24 RFers, min. 500 innings. Maybe UZR is just being weird.

I'll admit I don't know much about UZR and it's accuracy, but Springer is for sure not a defensive liability.

I remember this guy named Ryne Sandberg. He started his career 2-43 with 7 k's and 1 walk.

It's weird how all these "this guy was terrible when he came up" stories turn out to be BABIP-related.

True story. *rips off a hologram sticker in his honor*

Having the DH in only one league is one of my favorite things about the structure of the MLB, and I can't really explain why. I guess I just like the novelty of it. Edited by ScrubMD

How does an ops of .533 sound?

didn't realize you could get the ground rule double even if it touches the fielder
