Almora 2-4 with a double

He also stole a base. If he's not going to walk.....he needs to hit for average. If he's not going to hit for average, he needs to hit for power. If he's not going to hit for power, He needs to steal bases. Got a little of all that today. More would be ideal

i've got it into my head that he's going to end up slashing like 2010-2012 castro

I'm thinking more 2011-2012 Barney. Hope you are closer.

Soler stayed in the game and got a single his next time up. He's also playing RF. Have to imagine he's close to going to Tennessee.

Kevonte Mitchell is starting at DH for the AZL Cubs. It's his pro debut.

Alex Santana started for the AZL Cubs. Jefferson Mejia came into the game in the 5th and let in 2 of 3 base runners Gerardo Conepcion had put on.

Has anyone heard an update on C.J. Edwards?

He's been Tweeting for a while about how good he feels and how ready he is to get back on the mound in games.

I think when he was first shut down, the timetable had him coming back in July, so maybe we'll see something pretty soon.

Wada deserves to make his big league debut sooner rather than later.

Yeah -- I thought it was strange that Beeler started the other day over him, especially when Wada was just placed on the 40 man last week too.

I think the consensus was that had to do with scheduled days to pitch more than anything else.

It was Beeler's turn in the rotation is why. I imagine that Wada will get the call over him when a more permanent rotation spot opens up.

Cael Brockmeyer with the cycle for KC today.

I liked Cael when I saw him play for Boise last year. He is so big, that I thought that pitchers would be able to pitch him in. But so far he is putting up nice numbers at KC as well. It will be interesting to see what happens at Daytona and beyond.

Considering it was a regularly scheduled DH, would it not have made sense to line up the guy you wanted to make the start instead of just relying on whose turn it was by the time it happened?

I think it worked out okay. They got 6 innings of 1 run ball from Beeler and got to see what he looked like against ML hitters.

I'm not saying he should not have gotten the call; I am wondering if there was more to him getting the call than simply the fact that it was his turn. I assume they wanted him making that start and had it lined up so that would happen, on purpose.

I wouldn't have blinked an eye if they did that(and I bet they would have if it had been someone like Pimentel's turn in the rotation), but since Beeler is probably the guy after Wada in that pecking order they probably figured it was just as well left alone. Iowa had played 23 games in the 23 days prior to Saturday, so juggling that rotation may have been a little more tricky than average too.

The last tweet from him referenced a late July return.
