I know it's the Bucks, but they are starting Giannis at PG tomorrow night. At 6'11" if he can reasonably play that position they could have some crazy lineup combinations.

He's a freak athlete but having him as their primary ball handler is absurd. They did this in the summer league I assume it's for publicity? Brandon Knight is still there and should be handling the ball.

Heard that Durant's injury is possibly career ending and minimum 10-12 weeks out of action. I hope Nike has Durant insurance.

Some Doctor who was on ESPN radio. All I said was that I heard it. You don't trust ESPN radio?

A severe Jones fracture can be pretty bad. I could see the 10-12 weeks if it's that severe. Pretty sure Brook Lopez had it midway last season and was out for the year. Might've had it again a couple years ago when he missed time, but I'm not sure if it was the same thing. CJ McCollum had surgery last offseason and didn't make it back until Jan sometime. Julius Randle had something similar I believe back in high school. I remember someone bringing it up about his medicals around draft time.

Of course it could be career ending. All fractures on your feet can refracture because of all the stress you put on it. Remember Zydrunas Ilgauskas?? It wasn't exactly career ending for him, but he had a lot of problems. Not saying that'll happen to Durant, but it "could".

Also the players who have had their careers ended or put off track by the injury have mostly been big guys, iirc. Ilgauskus, Yao, Lopez (more of a wait and see as well).

You do realize Durant is 6'10" right?

Big guys in the sense they are really tall and carrying a bunch of weight. Those 3 I mentioned all probably carry 70-100 more lbs than Durant.

NBA.com and ESPN.com(and Wikipedia!) disagree.

Either way, those 3 weigh a decent amount more and are anywhere from 3-6" taller than Durant and also play a position that is more physically taxing.

In not sure about Lopez but Yao and Ilguaskas had multiple different and chronic injuries. Despite that Ilguaskas had like a 20 year pro career. And didn't Yao have a Brandon Roy-esque degenerative knee?

Lopez had either a Jones or Lisfranc fracture this past season. I can't remember what it was in 2011 or 2012 (whenever he missed time), but I'm pretty sure it was the same foot. Ilguaskas IIRC had injuries on both ankle/foot.

Ming for example had osteomyelitis in his left big toe in 2005 and had surgery because it was chronic. A year later he broke a bone in his left foot. Then he broke his right knee the year after that which seems to be a fluke thing. In 2008, he had a stress fracture in his left foot. Had another stress fracture in the same foot in the 2009 playoffs. Then a stress fracture in his left ankle in 2010 which ended his career. The right knee was a fluke, but the rest of his injuries were the same ankle/foot.

I have a really, really hard time believing that Durant only weighs twenty pounds less than Ilgauskas, who is 7-foot-3--thus six (six!) inches taller than Durant.

As another comparison, using the sources you listed, Lebron James weighs 249-250 pounds. Something's wrong here, because I think it's fair to say "no way" does Lebron only weigh ten more pounds than Durant.

Edit: Want to be clear that I'm not questioning your use of sources (because ESPN/NBA/Wikipedia are all legitimate). Just that I think we should be dubious of something here.

I believe after his diet this summer, Lebron is at 255-260ish so it's somewhat close now. I saw it in an article about it and how the past 2 years he was up to 270-275 with the Heat because he needed to post more often and needed the weight.

But anyway, they always have the height/weight wrong for a lot of these players for a long time and never update. I remember when Dennis Rodman was playing, he was listed as 6'9". Charles Barkley was listed at like 6'7". Shaq was 285 forever until the last couple years where they changed it to 325. It's not just in the NBA either. LaMarr Houston is still listed at 300 lbs even though he said this offseason when he signed with the Bears that he's in the 270s. That being said, I always took the height/weight with a grain of salt.

So what's the % that Rondo will be traded this year? Seems like he's supposed to get traded in the past 4 years, but this is probably the year where he will be.

Simmons think he will be traded to Knicks. LOL He had the trade going like this:

Knicks get Rondo/Gerald Wallace

Celtics get big man Amar’e Stoudemire, shooting guard Iman Shumpert, a 2018 first-round draft pick and one protected “pick swap” within the next five years.

I think there's like a 30% chance he gets traded, unless Smart looks like he can be a starting PG then I'd say it's closer to 80%. He's hard to put a value on.

The NBA lottery reform, surprisingly didn't pass. All the insiders were saying it was going to be near unanimous and turned out only 17 teams voted for it. Needed 23 votes or more to pass. PHX, PHL, OKC, NO, DET, MIA, MIL, San Antonio, Utah, Wash, ATL, CHA and Chicago were the teams who didn't vote for it.

What was the reform?

The worst 4 teams would all have an equal chance at the top pick, instead of there being better chances for the worst team. The idea being that teams wouldn't need to tank as hard.

Interesting. I think opening the lottery to about 5 spots and slightly flatter odds would do better job. Right now or with the proposed plan the floor is 4 which is still a pretty safe risk to take for a team.
