Even if they add Love I don't see the Cavs being some unstoppable team that people are saying. If/when they get Love they are going to have little depth (probably giving up 1 of Waiters/Wiggins and 1 of Bennett/Thompson) and limited money to add pieces, Kyrie/Love/Varejao can't stay healthy, and their defense outside of LBJ is pretty [expletive] awful. I think a handful of teams in the West are better or as good (SAS, HOU, LAC, GS, POR, possibly Dallas depending who else they add) and Chicago, Indiana and even a team like the Hawks will/could compete with them in the East.

Was Gilbert's letter on the Cavs's website all these years or not? Hearing conflicting reports.

They took it down like 3 days ago, finally. I don't believe there were any blatant racist remarks in it, but I remember some people got on Gilbert for the slave owner-slave/property undertones.

No, they took it down over three years ago. The media is just stupid

So the Cavs apparently have Miami's first rounder in next year's draft from the original LBJ sign and trade (but it's protected)

Ha ha, you think Portland and Golden State are "better or as good" as a team with LeBron James-Kevin Love-Kyrie Irving?

Man, I'm going to have to up my NBA viewing to 5, maybe even 10 games this year.

Make a few changes and it's the same BS people were saying to pretend that their team actually had a chance to compete. I know, I was one of them.

Yes, especially Portland. I think they matchup up very well with the Love/Kyrie/LBJ team.

Well the heat weren't unstoppable and teams absolutely competed with them. They won like 3 or 4 series in 7 games and lost in the finals twice. Clearly they were the best team over the last 4 years but many teams "competed".

As far as the East was concerned, they were unstoppable. They were never stopped from coming out of the East. Nobody has claimed they will win every title. But there's no reason as of this moment, even without the Love trade, that they shouldn't win the East as long as Lebron is better than everyone else in the sport.

He goes from The Decision to firing an essay from Brazil.

It's OK LeBron. Everyone makes mistakes.

Congrats Cleveland. I really didn't see this day coming back when LeBron left for Miami. Mostly I'm just overjoyed that Miami's terrible fans don't get to see championship basketball that they don't deserve. But I'm also happy for a downtrodden city that could really use some upside right now.

Are you talking about them winning the eastern conference or the nba championship? Cause you responded to a post that was only about western conference teams.

Actually I'm not sure who you are responding to here.

For myself, I wasn't responding to anyone else's post.

It's funny how my opinion of LBJ just completely changed on a dime. Though I am a simple-minded SOB.

Whoever mentioned the Miami fans, yeah, suck on it. I hope you already sent in your ridiculous season ticket deposits for next year.

This whole thread has been about the "East is over". And I responded to a post that mentioned 3 eastern teams also.
