i seriously can't wait until i never have to watch darwin barney on my favorite team again.

And Edwin Jackson..Can't wait until they dump both those losers..Why the [expletive] don't they just play Valbuena at 2B and Olt at 3B? Either let Olt play or just send him down..Barney is such a [expletive] block.

Because Mike Olt is [expletive] terrible at baseball

i guess in the end i'll take watching the guy whose minimal positive value comes from dingers over the one who makes the occasional sweet diving stop

One's desire for wanting Barney gone should have nothing to do with Olt. They've let him play and he has played poorly, because he's not good.

I have no idea what you're arguing about. They're both shitty but one or the other pretty much has to play right now, and I'm just saying that, for entertainment's sake, I guess I'd rather see home runs than sweet grabs at 2B.

Castro has been outstanding lately. Len and JD pointed out that he took a borderline pitch that would have been strike 3 and ended up with a hit. One sign that he's starting to figure it out more and is really locked in right now. Good times!

I'd rather have the guy likely to more positively affect the pitchers we're selling offs numbers

Given that neither Valbuena nor Olt are slouches in the field themselves, I'll take the entertainment value over this beyond marginal benefit to trade value.

Valbuena at 2b is kinda slouchy.

I am arguing against the notion that Barney is [expletive] blocking Olt. Olt had his chance to whip his [expletive] out and do something with it but he blew it. Barney's sucking has nothing to do with Olt's [expletive].

Only I never said that Barney is blocking Olt.

Valbuena at 2b is kinda slouchy.

He's actually been better at 2B than he has been at 3B this year.

first back to back road series wins in how long?

I don't know, but on the beach last week I heard a Phillies fan say the Cubs hadn't run a road series in 5 years. I had to look it up to make sure it wasn't true.

No, no, no, Kap and Hollandsworth are not seriously bitching over Starlin's AB where he grounded out to third and didn't move Rizzo to 3rd, are they?

Oh, they are.

Starlin goes 3/5 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI and Hollandsworth still complains about him in the post game show. Chicago media really is the absolute worst.

Kap is a dope but Hollandsworth should know better. He's a terrible human being.

Not saying Olt is good at all, but it's possible for guys to blow it early in their careers and, you know, get better. Again, not saying Olt is that guy, but it happens. A lot.

This is true. With Olt, we're talking a 25 year old who still has a chance to figure things out and become a perennial 30+ HR guy. With Barney, he's a safe bet to spend the next decade doing what he doing scattered between 7-10 teams.

And it's his first shot at a full MLB season. Age ≠ Experience

And have I mentioned that I really want to keep this rotation together beyond this year? If somebody wants to go all out with a package for Shark or Hammell, sure. But there's no reason to carry on with the Mission: Get What We Can and Run! M.O. every July.
