Has Schwarber homered yet?

He needs a promotion, he's clearly not being challenged.

You say that sarcastically as if he's not gonna hit 3 homers today.

cal, you may have analyzed this elsewhere or picked up insights from Az Phil's stuff? Have we gotten any indication of who'll be rotation for Boise? I'm guessing Clifton will start.

So, Ihrig organizational type guy; Leal, soft-tosser who's not likely much of a big-league prospect; presumably (hopefully?) Clifton. That would leave two other spots. I assume both of those will be either Latins or organizational late-round college picks?

Seems like all the top-10-round draft picks will be relievers at Boise, right?

Frazier, relief.

Garner, relief.

Conway, relief.

McNeil, relief.

Masek, relief.

Lang, relief. (Did he make that roster? I'd imagine he's probably not long for the system anyway, given how hopelessly wild he is.)

Kind of a shame that six picks from two drafts, 5 of them college guys, are not healthy enough or good enough to be more than short-season relievers at this point. O well, that's life when the draft focuses on pitchers.

The Boise website lists the probable starters as Ihrig, Leal, Clifton, Conway and Trevor Graham. I'm guessing some piggy-back starting will end up taking place on Ihrig, Conway and Graham days.

From what I understand, I believe McNeil will piggyback with Conway. Ihrig went 5 yesterday, so I'm not sure there will much piggybacking with him.

A run in the first for Tennessee on two hits. Bryant not involved. There's your slump, Hoyer. When he homers later you can promote him.

After a long drought, Bruno back on the board with a HBP. Raises his HBP rate to 6.4%.

Gratuitous Kris Bryant fawning: I thought he actually had hit a bit of a slump the last few games, then I check and he's 3 for his last 9 with a double and 3 walks.

Bryant's last 25 games: 105 PA, .428/.543/.940/1.483, 11 HR, 21 BB, 22 K

whatever that K rate is exactly, I love it.

Shade over 20 percent. One less K and it would be exactly 20

Schwarber RBI single scores Baez

Tseng to Daytona after the All Star Break?

Even with a fantastic outing today (5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 8 K), I'd be surprised if it happened that quickly (the MWL all-star break starts in 2 days). With the patience of this FO, I could see him being promoted in a month if he continues pitching well. Pierce Johnson moved up at this time last year, but he was 22 and Daytona was likely headed to the playoffs. Tseng is 19 and will be all season plus Kane County is already in the playoffs. It seems the Cubs value getting top prospects playoff experience so, given his age, perhaps he stays at Low-A all year.

Then again, what do I know? I have no idea what developmental milestones the Cubs want him to hit before advancing. They always say regardless of a player's numbers, him checking off the boxes in his developmental plan is what ultimately calls the shot.

Tseng looked awesome, guy after him not so much... 6 runs no outs (he did have a dropped 3rd strike though)

I think Beloit was happy to see Tseng reach his pitch limit.
