Arizona Phil touched on this but with Gleyber Torres still in Arizona on the opening day of the VSL season, it looks like our earlier concerns about him not playing in the US this season have officially been put to rest.

Unless I missed it, there's nothing on Jimenez. But it sounded to me like Erling Moreno is also starting in Arizona, which is cool.

However, it also looks like we gave some Gutierrez kid 185k to be a 17 year old SS, while in reality, we gave it to a 23 year old SS.

Jimenez is Dominican so we'll have to wait for the DSL to start up for him.

After 158 PA, Kris Bryant is sporting a .476 wOBA.

That's really not too bad.

Joel Piniero will replace Ivan Pineyro in Tennessee's rotation.

Admittedly, I don't know too, too much about the minors and its players. I've brought his name up before, but why is Bijan Rademacher not thought of as a more highly touted prospect? He's hit at all three levels he's played so far and he's not yet 23.

- he's been old for the levels he's been at

- he doesn't have great tools from a scouting perspective

- he doesn't really have great speed

- he hasn't really show much power until this year when he's repeating a level in A-ball

- and...if he doesn't play a stand out CF, he'd better produce more power going forward

Makes sense, thanks. I'll still keep an eye on him. If he keeps hitting, he should be up to AA sometime this year, right?

Definitely.

Also, when he was drafted, Rademacher was considered a much better pitching prospect but said he wouldn't sign unless he was allowed to hit.

Soler is just getting the day off, he's not hurt. (Brett asked Mick Gillispie, the Smokies announcer, to clarify this.)

Thanks CR and Tim and everyone else. I'm a "novice" minor league fan, and still learning who's who. But the older I get, the more intrigued I am at the whole minor league process. It's actually really neat to follow some of these youngsters through to the Majors. Hopefully there's plenty of that in the near future! :beg:

I hope, but it does seem a little fishy that they used a defensive replacement for him last night and now he's out. Hopefully it's nothing.

Anyone notice that Rubi Silva is actually walking this year?
