lol wtf

oh, it's arguello.

he probably heard that he added 5mph to his fastball but that was actually to the 6 he had lost in the offseason.

You idiot! It doesn't make a difference what baseline he's adding the 5 mph to.

The guy Arguello got that from clarified in the comments that it was one pitch that hit 94 or 95, and one other hit 93. Says he "averaged 88 with a handful of 90-91."

I swear we do this like once a month with different pitchers.

i'm quite pleased that my joke/reference didn't fall entirely flat as i feared it would

Hendricks is going to be an interesting case. Most people like him fall apart in the higher levels, but he hasn't at all.

He has a 3.07 ERA or better at every level

His K/BB ratio is 3.68 or better at every level

His HR rate at 3 of the 4 levels is 0.2 or lower (0.7 at high A)

His highest H/9 at any level is 8.5

Are there really many good comps for this? Not very good stuff, dominates statistically at every level he's at. The Cubs should give him a long look IMO.

So, is he young Maddux minus 3-4 mph on his FB? I know people always make that comparison even though Maddux threw a decent amount harder, but there isn't really an effective guy that comes to mind. Maybe right handed Ted Lilly?

You could say Doug Fister, but Hendricks' numbers are much better than his ever were in the minors.

Edit: Maybe Kyle Lohse too.

I don't know why, but Mark Buehrle keeps popping in my head.

With most comparisons I can find, the big breakdown is with HR rate, since Hendricks is so elite there. I pulled down AAA pitchers with > 60 IP from 2007-2012, and sorting on HR rate and some minor K/BB filters, it looks like Kevin Slowey and Charlie Morton are probably the closest I can find. Maybe Aaron Laffey on the lower end, Dan Straily on the highest end?

Albert Almora has a .236 batting average.

He is where we haters have decided to focus now that Soler is healthy and it's still too unthinkable to question Javy.

Almora's start is shocking to me. I was pretty [expletive] certain he could carry at least an empty batting average in Double-A before the season started. He's not coming even close to doing that in the FSL.

Please, Almora will end the season .300+ guaranteed.

300/310/310 with overrated defense

go have have a frontal lobe lobotomy.

Is that what it would take for me to think he's a great prospect?

I'm too drunk tohave this ocnversion.

You should probably "ocnvert" to being not drunk first.
