Is Soler finally playing today?

If he doesn't have car troubles getting to the yard.

amazingly, Kyle Hendricks has a higher K rate than guys like the resurgent Trevor Bauer, Henry Owens, even Mike Foltynewicz (who throws 100)

and in the PCL, only 29-year-old Mike Fiers has a better FIP

I noticed he was at a K/IP. 2.5/9 is a pretty solid BB rate isn't it?

I thought that's what we signed Concepcion for?

Soler has trouble getting to the yard.

Concepcion has trouble staying in the yard.*

*not this year but don't ruin my joke.

Ryan, do I get credit for saving Zaztrysny's life now?

Daytona News-Journal[/url]"]Pitcher Rob Zastryzny and the Daytona Cubs got some good news after the southpaw had X-rays done on his left arm late Wednesday night.

No damage was done when a screaming liner off the bat of Michael Reed hit Zastryzny (1-3) on the back of his left forearm, just inches below his elbow, in a 5-1 home loss to Brevard County.

“It’s just a bruise,” manager Dave Keller said Thursday afternoon. “It’s the best-case scenario out of the whole thing. He was getting treatment about an hour ago. He should be throwing (on the side Friday) or (Saturday).”

The 2013 second-round draft choice who signed with the Chicago Cubs for $1.1 million may not miss a start because the Florida State League is off on Sunday, and that will give him an extra day to bounce back, Keller said.

Could make case for high as No. 3. @SammyLlenas: if doing mid season prospect rankings today: would you move Kris Bryant higher ? @Cubs

@jimcallisMLB: Guy or two might have moved ahead of him, wouldn't overreact. @KFord1957: By the same Bryant token, would you drop Javy Baez? @Cubs

Congratulations to Albert Almora, I am now officially worried about you.

No power, no walks, no speed. Defense is never as good as the hype for guys in the low minors.

If he hadn't been the No. 6 overall pick with the prestige to go with it, I'm just not sure I'd like him any more than I like Bruno or DeVoss.

The hit tool makes it hard to bet against him making the majors, but whoop-de-do.

this is odd timing considering he has 3 walks in like the last 5 days or something.

why didn't you make this post a week ago?
