I can almost understand bunting your 2 hitter with your 3-4 coming up. But when u get to the bottom of the lineup, there's a reason you made the lineup with the 7th hitter before the 8th hitter. The whole concept of not taking the bat out of the hands of a superior player in favor of an inferior one should be common sense.

It's subjective, but you can't seriously think it's weird that some people would already tuned out of yet another horrible team. Besides Castro and Rizzo you've get the minor stories of guys like Lake and Olt, but until Baez gets here it should be obvious why it's Snoozeville for a lot of fans.

 

I understand the whole platoon thing, but I would be wildly more entertained if Olt and Lake played every day. I just don't care at all about watching Luis Valbuena play.

If I were in the dugout I wouldn't have done it, but on a cold night when you haven't scored for 14 innings, I get it with a DP risk at the plate.

The point is not "Yay bunting!", but rather that there's a huge chasm between that and the constant gnashing of teeth every time a player squares around.
