The only thing that has made me even want to like hockey the last few years is that dude's swag. He's douchy and a bit goofy but he does whatever the [expletive] he wants.

in the quenneville era, this team has faced a 2-2 series tie 7 times. in games 5 & 6 of those series, they are 14-0.

also, kane now has series ending OT goals in the 2nd round, WCF, and SCF

and crawford is just an animal. may have stolen both series already.

He beats up cab drivers while screaming "don't you know who I am?"

Amazingly legendary. Mostly because the cabbie wasn't seriously hurt and the whole event was more funny than startling. DO NOT [expletive] WITH KANER WHEN HE DRUNKENLY FOR GETS TO TIP YOU.

question:

when you guys talk about the Stanley Cup, do you think it's proper to say that the Blackhawks have won 2 Stanley Cups in 4 years, or is it more proper to say that the Blackhawks have won the Stanley Cup twice in 4 years?

The Cup is singular, not plural, and knowing how [expletive] nuanced hockey insiders are, wouldn't you think they'd prefer to use the latter?

I believe that was called "We have Patrick Kane and you don't."

Pretty much. I'll forever remain amazed that people wanted to trade him (yeah, yeah, meatballs); it's no coincidence that he scores so many huge goals. And it's priceless.

Just got home from the game. Feeling all kinds of empty right now. Minnesota sports strikes again. An unlucky bounce to end the season. It's always something new and it hurts every time. Kick in the nuts, heart ripped out of your chest and punched in the nose all at the same time.

It was a fun season. I'm proud of what this team did this year. I just need a hug or something right now. Will take a day to sink in.

Toughest part about leaving the rink tonight was seeing my ushers reaction. He's an older guy, been around for a long time. Always cheering, high fiving the fans around him all season. To see him just blankly staring at the ice with tears in his eyes and having to say goodbye till next year...man the feels. Such an empty feeling. It was silent on the walk back to the car

Hehe.

He & Cutler are the best things going in Chicago. They're cut from the same cloth.

Man I guess they really believed in that [expletive].

I mean, they played well at home but Kyle told us so many times not to worry.

This image of Kane as the Grim Reaper just popped into my head. Wild fans in agony all around. Thin smile on his face as he swings the sickle backhand. Puck hitting the top of the net.

Yeah, they're reaching for the series overall, but they have every right to feel like they should have won last night's game. The problem with that is that, as with sports in general, is in close games the team with the best player/playmakers/etc. has an advantage.

I didn't know Sulley had a cousin on the Wild forums

I know, cool guy.

That fact helped convince me to put a couple bets on the Hawks last night. CHA-CHING!

No credit or respect at all to Minnesota. They are a second-round fodder type of team to the real championship-level teams like us. The WCF are practically our birthright by now.

If the Ducks win tonight, would Game 1 likely be on Saturday? Alternatively, I assume a game 7 would make game 1 of the WCF likely on Sunday or Monday?

My guess ECF starts Saturday. WCF starts Sunday, even if LA, Anaheim goes 7.

Yeah, that sounds right.

So we get home ice against the Kings but not the Ducks. But I still think I'd rather face the Ducks.

with grit, determination, sticktoitiveness, and a relentless forecheck, the Wild were able to compete with a lackadaisical and disinterested Blackhawk team that essentially woke Achilles on the morning of battle and sent him to murder their greatest heroes.

Not much to add other than Chicago has participated in 4 of the last 6 conference finals. That's nuts.

Also, a 50% chance of a second consecutive Original 6 SCF, very nice.
