Not much to add other than Chicago has participated in 4 of the last 6 conference finals. That's nuts.

 

Also, a 50% chance of a second consecutive Original 6 SCF, very nice.

Just went back and looked at that draft class.

 

Looking back now, after Kane the top 10 is pretty weak. St. Louis traded down from 9, where San Jose ended up taking Couture. Bet the Blues regret that.

 

The middle part of that first round was pretty solid -- Shattenkirk, Pacioretty, McDonagh, Sutter.

I have to imagine the only reason would be he is sick of the travel because I cannot imagine that would be more lucrative than his current gig. That can't be a great path to a front office, can it?

The other rumors out there had him in contention for the Hurricanes head coaching job. So who knows...might just be rumors and nothing more. He wouldn't outright shoot down the Hurricanes rumor on the radio the other day, but that doesn't mean much.

I hope they get swept and choke their way to failure for the next 60 years.

The Hawks have now become my my most hated team in the NHL. I've never witnessed a team getting that lucky that often. The ****ing puck just sits perfectly for some of those damn players. They get all the bounces all the time, and it's just disgusting to watch from an opposing fans perspective. If the law of averages is a real thing, that team is long overdue for some Skoula-esque moments.

 

Minnesota is taking this one extra hard. I love it.

At this point we've got a ton of experience beating other teams in the playoffs and soaking up the sweet, sweet hate.

 

Minnesota fans are taking this one about as hard as I've seen lately. The Blues are resigned to their fate as chokers. Last year, we beat three teams with recent Cups and a Minnesota team that was happy to be in the playoffs at all.

 

This year, Minnesota *really* wanted to be taken seriously and resented all the "of course Chicago will win" stuff, and losing when outplaying is just sending them off the deep end.

 

Probably my favorite since beating Philly.
