Castillo holding his glove up asking for ball 4

Let's not trade Shark...I mean, seriously, he is just what we'd be hoping the returning prospects become.

Or if he keeps pitching like this, let's trade him while he is in his prime and his value is at an all-time high.

It really depends on when the Front Office thinks we can contend. If it's in the next 2 years after this, keep him. If it's anything past that, he needs to be traded.

and then when (if) THOSE pitchers become consistent and reliable, we can trade THEM for prospects, forever, and forever

There's no reason we can't compete next year...we're competing fine this year. Trading Shark is counter-productive.

Playing competitively in individual games and competing for a World Series title aren't quite the same thing.

And his inability to frame showed on that 3-2 pitch.

Was worried when that ball left the bat.

It was a ball, but his glove was pretty aggressive going down and coming back up. You never know what umps will call if the catcher makes it look better. Sorry, sounding a lot like Kyle now.

It's certainly true based on tonight's home plate umpiring.

If framing is as real as people are pretending to think it is catchers who are great at framing should be getting double what miguel cabrera got because their impact on the game dwarfs that of any other player.

Just because they aren't being blown out of games doesn't mean they are going to be contenders for a division or world series title. Sure they have been in most of the games so far, but we are only 9 games into the season. I guess it depends on your definition of competing. I think the Cubs can potentially field a respectable team next year, but not a team that will compete for a championship quite yet.
