Wasn't Veras a decent closer for Houston last year?

ERA 3.02, FIP 3.62, xFIP 3.95. xFIP has been 3.80 or higher the last 4 seasons (and every other year of his career)

Which is why they signed Veras. Fortunately, two weeks is enough of a definite analysis of ability to make sweeping judgments.

 

It's also nice that relievers are so reliably predictable and good, so that's why they pitch in relief.
