Let's go streaking!

Rick Renteria has already said Olt and Lake will be in the lineup so let's hope they both show they want to play everyday.

A series win would be nice, as would pulling back to within a game of .500

Fun Rizzo stats: 10-19 (.526) at home in 2014.

Go Cubs!

If you were looking for a good day to not strictly platoon, today's it: Gerrit Cole virtually no L/R split (.640 OPS v. R, .631 v. L).

Obligatory lineup gripe: Shoulda split up the LH and RH hitters. 4 LH followed by 4 RH, Pirates have easy time matching up in relief.

I mean, you're saying "gets depressing" like it becomes depressing that they're so amazing and we're just awful lumps of mortal flesh, right? Because there is no other option.

Yeah, that's totally what I meant.

I should do this every day until/unless it gets depressing

4.4 and 7.4, to be more specific

oh, and 15 for Emilio (19 if you include defense)

hmm... how did you figure those, just out of curiosity? I just took 160 games since 8 fit into that roundly (and since they've played around that often - not the most scientific way, I realize) so at .2 and .4 currently just multiplied by 20

using RAR

for as long as i can remember, 1 WAR = 10 RAR, but that seems to have changed some: 5.2 RAR for Charlie Blackmon gets rounded to .6 WAR, but 5.1 for Yangervis Solarte gets rounded to .5

edit: a win's now worth 9.386 runs

so, more accurately...

160G WAR pace

Castro: 4.7

Rizzo: 7.9

Emilio: 16

Jr. Lake: 3

interesting. I'l trade the tenth of a win on rizzo for the .7 on castro. approved.

Anyone know where the nearest free parking to Wrigley is that would be open? I might go to this game.

I'm guessing it shouldn't be TOO hard to find given that it's a Thursday day game in early April in what's supposed to be a miserable season. (I'd prefer to avoid the shuttle lot...just looking to park somewhere and walk over)...

So if Bonny actually did this, would it be the greatest single season of all time?

the best-ever fWAR is Babe Ruth's 1923: 15.0

more recently, Bonds had a 12.5-win season in '01
