Olt might as well be in AAA if Barney is going to get starts over him.

 

If they are holding him out for shoulder/weather reasons that would not do any better.

Has it been confirmed that's the reason he's sitting every other game? I hope that's the reason. I'd like to think it's just a coincidence he's been out of the line-up both games against right handers. And that he was pinch hit for in game 1 as soon as Liriano was pulled.

Been in Wrigleyville 5 min and already heard two guys talking about trading Castro ASAP

I hear it down here talking to my Cubs fan friends. I'm not against trading Castro in theory, but how about we don't dump him at his all time low value? I say this and they still clamor on, about Castro and about Theo being worthless.

Understanding that you don't just trade guys because you don't want them anymore is one of the major hurdles to becoming an acceptably intelligent sports fan.

@ESPNChiCubs Renteria says he wants to ease Olt in for now. Maybe take it easy on shoulder. Cited slick conditions.

 

@M_Montemurro Renteria said part of the reason Olt isn't starting every day at 3rd base is to try and protect his shoulder. #Cubs

 

EDIT: Also, if you don't think Valbuena to be much of a defensive 2B, then the decision is Barney v. Lake today.

WGN TV? Because there is horrible crackling audio on mine.

yeah, WGN. I don't have it up loud but can hear the voices fine, and when I did turn it up there was nothing weird.
