i am treymon welcome to gam thread

the cubs sucked in game 1, but even bad game 1 is better than the day off after game 1. i hate it so much. doubly so when we didn't score a run in the first game.

also, there was a lot of talk in gam thread for game 1 that no one would be paying attention to gam thread starting with game 2. NOT ON MY WATCH YOU JACKALS. everyone should pledge a number of posts they plan to make in this thread so that we can be assured gam thread 2 is even better than gam thread 1.

in conclusion, edwin is going to have a good year so that will start now. hopefully the cubs can get him a run or two.

Oh, this offense against Liriano and Cole in back-to-back games would be too depressing.

I'm teaching my night class so I'll miss most of this one. Here's hoping I'll like what I see when I get out. I'm spending the night in town at some gal I work with who DOESNT HAVE CABLE (how is this possible). So I'll almost assuredly watch the game later on replay - win or lose. None of this is interesting or relevant, but I wanted to make a post to add to Tree's game thread because I have mad respect for these.

Go cubs and stuff.

So Tree is actually Derrick Rose apparently.

Why is there no gam today?

They usually build an off day in to the opening series of the year to accommodate for any potential bad weather/canceled game on opening day.

It would make a tone more sense to schedule the off day for Thursday so you can take care of any of the 3 games that might get canceled, but MLB is all knowing so whatever.

Teams charge more for opening day tickets and this gives teams a chance to schedule a rainday and still honor the premium value of the ticket.
