This may be the highest quality basketball of the entire tourney so far. This is a hell of a back and forth game.

I guess this is what it looks like when players as good as Kentucky has are actually interested.

Feel bad for Wichita. They are too good to be remembered as a mid major that got eliminated in the first weekend. This is what the committee wanted by loading this bracket.

Yep. The committee set them up to fail, and its [expletive].

The officiating in that game was....not good.

I agree with all of this. Harrison was allowed to just drop his shoulder and bulldoze his way to the basket on several occasions and then they started calling all the touch fouls the last few minutes. Although in the refs' defense, I haven't seen any particularly well officiated games in this tournament. It seems like they're letting them play most of the game and then tightening things up at the end, which is completely unfair to the players.

i realize i'm probably jinxing iowa st into losing on a barrage of 3 pointers, but UNC only has TWO guys make more than 8 3s on the season. TWO! a guy that transferred from iowa st at semester and played 38 minutes all season would be fourth on their team in 3s.

well I called it

ticky tack over the back on iowa st, doughboy from unc mauls a guy over the back next time down...no call.

who would've ever guessed iowa state's 5 swingmen offense might be muscled on the glass

At least they got it right

I mostly agree that they got it right, but couldn't Roy Williams have made the argument that his player saw the 1.6 on the clock and thought he had time to get it across half court?

I'm not even sure the ref acknowledged the timeout before the delayed 1.6 secs expired. The most fair outcomes probably would have been something like letting them inbound from behind the basket with 1.6 left or inbounding from 3/4 court with ~.3 left, but I'm pretty sure the rules don't allow for that.

They don't call him the best color man in the game for nothing folks.

Wichita had the audacity to try and steal the spotlight, the NCAA took care of them. Sad.

Has Creighton not seen a team all year that has anybody taller than 6'8"? They are completely clueless on how to play against a bigger team. Man I hate Scott Drew.

They, like most teams, are not very equipped to face teams that shoot 10 of 13 from 3. Especially while they are shooting 3 for 17 from 3. Considering that three point success in a game is largely impacted by variance/luck, it really sucks for them that this game had to happen to them today.

If Arizona wins tonight, I'll have 7 and 8 of the Sweet 16 in my 2 brackets.....but I'll have 6 and 7 of my elite 8 still alive and my final 4s entirely in tact.
