New England Patriots

On March 15, 2013 Wilson signed with the New England Patriots to a 3-year deal. Right after he joined the team, he offered Kyle Arrington a year's supply of diapers for Arrington's newborn baby to have Arrington's jersey number 24, the number Wilson had in Arizona. On May 1st, 2013 Wilson received the #24 jersey from Kyle Arrington. Kyle Arrington was reassigned to #25.[8]

On August 31, 2013 the New England Patriots placed Adrian Wilson on the season ending injury reserve due to an achilles injury. He was released by the Patriots on April 4, 2014.

Thanks wiki.

So he didn't play in 2013. He's old and has had injury issues. This guy can't be any good anymore, can he?

The epitomy of taking a football flyer. If he helps Vereen in any way, it's worth it, in my mind. I'll be shocked if he makes the team though.

The only thing I wonder about in terms of punt yardage vs. return yardage comparisons is positioning. In other words, does it make a difference (or should it?) in terms of where you punt from?

He was already starting his downslide due to aging. He was still solid, but he was the premier SS in the league in Arizona's Superbowl year. He'll be 35 in October, so not sure what he has left. He's strictly an in-the-box safety though. So, conceivably he'll have to beat out Mundy, which has 0 chance of happening. Mundy did play some SS and FS last year, but he's better at strong also, but I'd imagine if Wilson is amazing in camp Mundy would move to FS and save the Bears from starting a rookie (Vereen) or Conte back there. Of course, that combo would struggle in coverage, but potentially could be amazing tackling.

Two years ago, did we think we'd have a duo clearly better than Jones and White? Wow.

The other thing I see is that your Super Bowl winner was only marginally better than the Bears. The Broncos punting was much better, but because their coverage was much worse, they wound up only marginally better, as well.

Still though: good riddance Podlesh.

The Bears duo had more yards and TDs last year than Jones and White did in 2012. Just 14 months ago, the Bears top 2 WRs were Devin Hester and Earl Bennett.
