Outside of a medical malpractice lawsuit (which admittedly is a big deal), why else would the team care if Rodgers reinjures himself and is out for 6 months? He doesn't need OTA's. Rebroken collarbones aren't career threatening and next year wouldn't even be in question.

Injuries beget injuries.

I find the blasé "oh if he breaks it no big deal!" Kinda galling. There are already complications possible, it's really not anything he wants to go through.

Didn't Danny Amendola come within a few centimeters of being dead from a broken collar bone in the last couple years? It's a potentially very serious problem, moreso than most broken bones would be.

Still not clear if the doctors agree he should play, or if this is Rodgers signing off on playing even without clearance.

Can Rodgers even play if he wanted to without the doctors clearing him? I didn't think that was possible.

I do not know. I'm pretty sure he can't in the case of concussions, but not sure about other injuries

Rozner making some outlandish claims today, saying all it will take to re-injure Rodgers is a firm shove. I highly doubt that, after 8 weeks.

Also saying Rodgers is getting killed up here. Not true. A few meatballs, yeah. But most Packer fans I'm around were just disappointed in the length of time it was taking.

I'll be honest -- I'm going to be scared every time he gets knocked down on Sunday. I think the reward is greater than the risk though, especially after nearly two months of the injury occurring.

How can the reward be greater than the risk? Still a long shot to win a Superbowl (may be underdogs in the 1st round if they win). If they're just going to win 1 game, I don't see how that's work risking 2014 for.

I'm under the assumption that with a healthy Rodgers, the Packers can compete with any team in the league. Yes, the defense is obviously not very good but with a healthy Rodgers and a healthy Lacy, they have the ability to beat anybody on offense.

With as cautious as the Packers medical staff has been over the last half dozen years, I'd have to think that he's just about at 100% as far as his healing goes.

Yeah, depending on how bad/big the break is you can do some serious damage to nerves/veins/arteries.

yeah I don't see the reward either, Bears or Packers are going to get destroyed the next week.

That's the most likely scenario but if the Saints are the 5 seed, I'd think that either the Packers or Bears would beat them outside.

10 months hiatus just to come back and post about GB. Haha.

He's certainly more level-headed than 50% of the posters in most Bears game threads.

You sure? All I see to remember is him going ape [expletive] after the Packers lost a game at Soldier Field in December 2008. I'm too lazy to dig up the post.

I'm going to assume there's little risk to the 2014 season itself. Because that would be insanity.

Schefter is on ESPN right now saying Rodgers has medical clearance. So I guess that's that.

I think you have him confused with someone else. Plus you are a bit psycho...2008? Really?

Nah. We used to talk outside of here, that's the only reason I remember it. He was actually the one that got me to join the board sometime after he posted that.

I'll be in Vegas for this one, watching Rodgers slice through our defense like a hot knife through butter.

I'll subscribe to the shoot out theory, but the Bears come up significantly short. With Rodgers guiding the Pack, look for extended scoring drives where lots of clock is eaten and we just can't get off the field. Bears should be able to do some damage too in the same way, but it just won't match the Packers.

Defenses won't matter in this game. It's offense against offense, and the Packers simply have more with Rodgers.

Packers 45 Bears 31.

I say Rodgers is rusty enough in the 1st half that we get a bit of a lead and have just enough to hang on for the W.

I'll be there freezing my ass off, so these jerks better make it worth my while!

Is Lacey playing in your prediction?

Yes, he's expected to play. Does it really matter that much? Starks is perfectly capable

I can't believe its been that long but yeah, I've been out of the message board loop in general for quite some time.

I don't think I've ever been an [expletive] on a Bears-Packers thread. When the Bears beat the Packers in 2008, the Packers were already eliminated from the playoff race. If I acted like an idiot after that game, I apologize because I don't really know why I would've cared about a game that had no magnitude riding on it for the Packers.

You're fine. FWIW I was curious and did find it though... viewtopic.php?f=44&t=52384&start=800

I'm just being a [expletive] because I hate today is all. Haha.
