Oh, I'm down with the Packer hate.

We need a mind wipe to erase tonight's game. Clear the mind, because Bears/Packers FOR ALL THE [expletive] MARBLES is upon us!!

In addition to Rodgers's health, Clay Matthews's thumb injury will have a huge bearing on the game

Ditto Lacy's injury.

Agreed, but this whole season's been touch-n-go and yet the Bears still have shot to put in a good game at home and make the playoffs.

I could have showed up to work today without pants on (and it's cold out) and been less embarrassed than the Bears were last night.

I'm actually not that devastated by the game last night. [expletive] just went wrong a lot. Give up a TD on good coverage. Fumble a good kickoff return. Back-to-back sacks takes away a chance to get back into the game early. Overturned fumble, gets a tired D back on the field when they thought they were off. Safety gets them right back on the field again.

But I have come to realize that the Bears went from potential of having a favorable path to the NFCC (Saints outdoors in the cold, inexperienced Panthers on the road) to now IF they get in, they get to face the 49ers in the first round, and will get run all over and probably lose miserably.

Oh and the Eagles provided a blueprint to the Packers of how to slow down this offense. The Packers had a lot of success last year, bracketing Brandon Marshall with CB underneath and S help over top (basically a double-team). They were probably cautious of doing that with Jeffery emerging, but like the Eagles...if they show numbers pre-snap on a blitz, the Bears will have to max protect and can only send out 3-4 receivers, so they can double both Marshall and Jeffery and man up on the Bennetts (with a LB and nickel) and force them to beat the defense with Forte having to stay in to block.

Trestman better make adjustments. I'd spread them out. Maybe even go empty (Forte out wide). They'll either get out of the blitz or be subjected to a bunch of short passes to wide open receivers. Would be nice to get Forte on the edge too. Stop running inside completely.

I like this plan. There aren't many non-CBs who can cover Forte 1 on 1. It may take longer sustained drives, but I think it's a great strategy.

Not necessarily. If Dallas beats Philly for the division and the Bears win, they're back to the 3 seed since they have the tiebreaker over DAL.

Even if they end up the 4 seed, I like the Saints chances of going into Philly and getting a win, which would still give us Carolina in the 2nd round. And count me among those people who rather face SF than NO in the 1st round.

Just a bad team for Briggs to try to play against or is he worse than his backup?

probably not in game shape mentally or physically. He looked slow to react and took some poor angles. For this week at least he looked lik ehe didn't belong on the field.

I'm stunned and down about the game last night, but I don't think the Bears were exposed anymore than they were prior to the game. I trust Trestman to make adjustments offensively. I think the Bears win this one something like 27-17 and probably get destroyed by SF next week.

I don't know why you'd want a team that can't stop the run face a team that's one of the best at running the ball. Especially one that also plays the best defense of any team likely to be in the playoffs. Rough matchup. Bears could win, but I'm not going to be confident.
