Charlie Strong to be coach at Texas.

I'm told there's 1stumbling block keeping Strong-Texas from happening. May get resolved, but not yet. Offer is there, not formally accepted.

 

Stumbling block could be Clint Hurtt. Heard he is also a candidate at Miami and might prefer S Florida.

 

Texas would never go for Hurtt and that would have been clear during the negotiations. Have a hard time thinking he is the reason. Strong did this last year too.

Agreed, would not shock me. And there is probably zero chance Hurtt ever goes back to Miami or even mentioned. So I don't see why he would be a hold up at Texas.

So excited to watch the SEC excuses following the game.

 

No excuses from me. Clemson and Duke showed they were both solid teams in their bowls. FSU obliterated both and should be the favorite in this game. Hoping AU can run the ball, pressure Winston and make it interesting.

A loss to FSU plus the inevitable Saban to Texas deal that will redefine college athletics. The SEC is slowly unraveling.

 

I never called the Saban deal "inevitable." I said that if it was as large as it was, and if it met the rumored specs, it would redefine college coaching contracts due to the "residual revenue" of the deal.

 

But the FSU win? Yeah, I'll admit to that.
