So apparently the Patriots scouting report on Johnny Manziel leaked. Neither the NFL or the Pats will verify or deny if it's real, which kind of impllies that it's real.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/05/09/new-englands-manziel-scouting-report-reportedly-is-leaked/

It looks legitimate, and it expresses various worries about Manziel’s off-field habits, including a somewhat bizarre reference to “outlaw bloodlines.” The report also describes Manziel as a “spoiled brat” who gets an allowance from his grandfather and whose father bought him a luxury car.

From a football standpoint, Texas Tech sources told the Patriots that coaches “can’t yell/scream at him or he shuts down; has walked away from [former Texas A&M offensive coordinator Kliff] Kingsbury in the past,” and that Manziel doesn’t study the game.

Holy [expletive], who leaked that report, his uncle Tyrion?

The south is a terrible place for anyone and always has been.

Yeah, driving throughout the country, I was blown away by the culturally progressive Mecca that is the American Midwest.

better to be a wide expanse of boring nothing and whitebread than to be the south.

I assume you're referring to the rural Midwest. I was speaking more to the point that intolerance does in fact exist north of the Mason-Dixon line, but I'll take my food, diversity and culture too, thanks.

Yeah, we got food and junk up north, too, but without all the, you know, institutionalized racism.

And your cities that are so segregated they'd make Bull Connor nod in approval.

Yeah, that must be it. The south is ok because there are a lot of white people in the north.

So Michael Sam has a reality show. Announced it after he had been drafted, although its been filming for weeks. I wonder how the Rams feel about this?

@alexweprin Per OWN: "Cameras will follow Sam as he works to earn his spot... while under the intense scrutiny of being the first openly gay player"

Said without a hint of irony, apparently :\

That's...not good. Especially if the Rams didn't know about this when they drafted him. Forget the gay thing, he already is going to be a target in training camp for being such a high profile 7th rounder. Now this? I applaud the Rams for picking Sam, but if he becomes a prima donna they are going to find themselves in a tough position.

On a related note, I have heard a few times that he was not the greatest teammate at Mizzou but haven't heard any details. Anyone know anything to this?

never heard anything close to that. all signs point to him being quite well respected inside the locker room

Hopefully the Rams knew about this. If not, he looks REALLY bad. If they did know, he still looks bad. It's a distraction and for me anyway, it puts into question his real agenda.

It's great he had the courage to do what he did. I get that life is more important than football. If he's trying to bring awareness and his journey thru all this to the public, it's admirable. But to the guys inside that locker room, it's a distraction. Seems very likely he's going to get off on the wrong foot to me. I don't think the Rams will have any issue cutting him early, if this thing becomes a circus, nor do I think they'd catch a TON(they'd catch some) heat from doing it.

Hopefully, the Rams knew and this somehow won't interfere with things and he plays well, makes the team and has a long career.

just because he has a reality show doesn't mean the [expletive] cameras are gonna be on him in the locker room. the rams can always say no, and it can just be all about him and his boyfriend doing regular old gay stuff.

Very true. I am sure they'd rather their 7th round pick just become a football player and thinking about the playbook once camp begins instead of thinking about the cameras. The veterans on that team are sure to hate that.

was "the deadliest catch" or whatever that show was about Chad Ochocinco's dating life even a distraction at all for the Bengals?

Did he film one in-season? I don't remember that.

But willingly participating in reality television is a lifestyle choice that should be shunned.

Yeah, but the big difference there being that Ochocinco was already a veteran rather than some fringey draftee just out of college trying to make it in the league.

It also wasn't a show about him trying to make the team, right?
