This is the worst defense the team has had in like a decade.

I'm trying to think....im sure this is selective memory but I remember 5 plays where the Bears were either 4th and less than 2 yards or going or a 2 point conversion. The Bears failed 4 of those 5 times, and the one time it worked Forte had to break 2 tackles to get the 1st.

 

Off the top of my head there was the successful one against GB and the one against Cincinnati.

I would have gone for it. Would have given the ball to one of my 4 probowl caliber players though. I'm odd like that.

Just bizarre to do such a limp dick run to your worst ball carrier on that play. It's a horrible play call and Trestman should be called on to answer for it.

Why do the announcers get excited when the Bears opponents break off 10+ yard runs, like its some exceptional thing against the Bears D?

 

The Bears have allowed 47 runs of 10+ yards so far this season. 47 in 11 games....

if you don't trust your defense, getting 7 instead of 3 is even more important than usual. who cares about getting within one score if you think your defense is going to give up another score the next drive? go get as many points as you can.
