From an outsider's perspective:

The jump ball call was absolutely awful (although slightly predictable, refs seem to equate sitting on top of someone with having the ball). Should have been a timeout, and a better chance of a foul then the jump ball. Also should have been a violation on the tip.

The Bulls if they got that timeout only had I believe 3 left on the shot clock, so it would have been a tough possession and they couldn't take the last shot. But they should have had a chance.

The foul with two seconds left in overtime was also really bad.

As somebody astutely mentioned, Chicago and Washington (Washington especially) had very small home/road splits, so losing the first two at home isn't as disastrous as it is normally. The Bulls could very well still win at least one and possibly two in Washimgton.

Boozer played 21 minutes, Butler played 53.

I think Noah played at least 45; he and Butler were just gassed by the end. Definitely a game where Thibs needed to break from the usual routine and get guys like Boozer back in there.

Can someone describe the game situation when this jump ball happened? And Hinrich missing FTs?

The Hinrich part was the Bulls were down 2 in OT and Hinrich drove the lane, threw up a layup, and Noah tried tipping it in. They called a foul on the layup attempt, sending Hinrich to the line to potentially tie it up with 2-3 seconds remaining. He clanked the first one and tried missing the second, but Washington got the rebound

Hinrich is awful. Nevermind the FT attempt, he clanged a ton of jumpers and layups in the second half.

I love Thibs, but for the love of god, let Snell play 10-15 minutes. He can't be worse than an exhausted Hinrich. And playing Booz only 21 minutes is dumb, especially considering the fact that he is still a very good rebounder on a percentage basis.

Play Dunleavy. He had a strong 3rd quarter and was playing really well. It was painful watching Hinrich brick shot after shot.

They just played wild. Boozer and Dunleavy at least know where to be on offense and Dunleavy actually moves around. Instead we are dribbling out possessions and settling for taj Gibson contested spinning hooks or Noah trying to do too much.

Don't you realize how much I need this thibs !!

Jump ball was with, I believe, 10 seconds left in regulation (3 on the shot clock as CCP said), Taj chases down a loose ball and dives to get it in front of the Bulls' bench, Nene jumps on top of him and somehow gets a jump-ball call out of it. Then, as someone posted in a GIF earlier, Nene grabs Taj's arm on the jump ball to win it.

Ridiculous loss.

Bernstein was talking about how a fan overheard Nene walking into the tunnel after the game shouting "Tell them to get some real players"

That doesn't sound real

We have one of the best guards in the league in a suit.

If Rosé were a FA this offseason, what do you think he'd get?

I know he was an MVP and all but do we really still get to call him one of the best guards in the league? Usually playing in the league is a pre-requisite to being considered among the best.

That's my point. At this moment, he's not a max player. He may or may not ever be again. If I'm Melo or some other big FA, I'm probably looking at too much risk to come in and count on him.

if you miss on Melo, the only answer will be to Mad Max-it over to Bartertown and try to kill Master Blaster.

What the alternative for Melo though? He has to feel pretty comfortable with the team without Rose, but I don't see why he wouldn't be, unless he's willing to wait a year in NY for their cap situation to improve.

Supposedly Houston and Dallas are potential landing spots. I'd never count out LA either, although Kobe's situation is as troubling as Rose's is. But it's shorter, if things go haywire too.

People keep throwing out Houston without a good idea on what it would actually take for them to clear the room. They have to get teams to take on a year of Lin and Asik at a very high actual dollars cost and not really a great cap cost. Plus Morey has a pretty stingy reputation in trade negotiations.

Not sure on Dallas' situation.

I'm still taking the Knicks over the field, and probably a lot. Phil and 30m and the possibility of 2015 will be too much to give up. I'm giving the Knicks 70%. I do like the Bulls shot the best among the 30% field though.
