Week 2: Vikings (0-1) @ Bears (1-0) Noon CT, Fox/780

Yeah, I love mine....except I lost weight and it's enormous on me now, and it's Hester.

Perfect time to replace it with a 15 or 6.

Jay's not going anywhere, but for some reason I'm scared to buy his jersey until he is re-signed.

My Briggs jersey has lasted me a solid 5 years and I hope it will last at least a couple more before I have to get a new one.

15 is the one I don't expect to see around for very long.

Meaning you expect him to go to another team? Or you expect him to be done playing football soon?

He's 29yo and signed through next year.

I expect him to not be a Bear for very long for a variety of reasons. If we can wind up with 4 seasons of him I'll chalk it up as a win.

I think (maybe wishful thinking) that Marshall has his issues worked out though. The guy has acknowledged his personal issues and is taking care of them. No red flags for quite some time now.

I could see him becoming expendable if Jeffrey becomes a similar player both in ability and play style. It's plain to see Jeffery is modeling his game after Marshall, which makes sense given his size. He just has to prove he can dominate in the same way as Marshall.

As soon as Jeffery was drafted, I thought the best case scenario was Jeffery turning out really good, letting Marshall play out his contract, and then letting him walk. I think the Bears go after a WR in the mid-rounds this year (early if one falls) with some speed and look to build a WR corps in s couple years of Jeffery, Marquess Wilson, and the draft pick.

Unless there's some deal made before he becomes a FA, I don't want to see them get in a bidding war for a player at 30-31yo who'll likely be getting paid for elite production when they'll likely be needing to rebuild the defense.

It was a great trade regardless if he plays beyond next year or not.

So Jay was 1 for 2 in getting flags when he emphatically points at something.

I'll take that success rate.

He's got a ways to go to get up to Tom Brady's success rate.

No sign of Julius Peppers at practice during portion open to media for viewing.

Maybe meaningless, but going along with a weird quote the other day from Peppers I don't like to see this stuff.

Apparently he was sick.

What was it he said the other day about his role in the defense? It seemed similar to Marshall's comments.

All I saw was that he shrugged his shoulders (which sounds like the way Peppers would respond to most media questions) when Peggy Kusinski asked if he was confident in the game plan or something.

I didn't see that. Really I don't know that I've seen Peppers say much of anything lately.

Well, its not like this is pro wrestling. Peppers isnt going to hit Trestman with a chair in a shocking heel turn because he doesnt like him.
