It's time. Bears favored by 3.5 at the moment.

The last time the Bears and Bengals met in 2009, I was in attendance and watched the Bears get slaughtered 45-10. The time before that was 2005 when Kyle Orton threw 5 INTs and Chad Ochojohnson did a riverdance in the Soldier Field end zone. I think the final score was 24-7. [expletive] these guys, lets kick their asses.

iirc, the Bengals didn't punt at all in the last matchup, or at least not until really late in the game

Yup. We held them to a field goal at one point though! I think it was because the half was running out though

In a change of pace from most inter-office rivalries, we actually have a Bengals fan here who seems quite confident they are super bowl bound. He's not a douche about it or anything but I don't like giving away this many points in the first game under this system.

Hard to know what to expect from the very first game under a new coach.

But, I feel like the Bears have every reason to be confident they can with their home opener.

I'll go 24-20 Bears.

31-13 Bears

Im down with this. The bengals arent nearly as talented on offense as the bears.

agreed... AJ Green is probably more talented than anyone on the Bears (esp. since Marshall's hip may not be 100%) but Cutler, Forte, and Marshall are better than anyone else the Bengals have by a lot

Their defense is really good, though. Think they'll give up 31?

andy dalton listens to amy grant before games to get pumped up

In 3 years, he'll be relegated to back up duty and then he'll start listening to Metallica.

@mikecwright: 43 of Packers 53-man roster were drafted by them. Vikes: 39 of 53. Lions: 27 of 53. Bears: 29 of 53.

Wonder what the numbers are just for starters. At a quick glance it looks like 4 offensive starters (Jeffery, Forte, Mills and Long) and 8 defensive (Wooten, Paea, Melton, Briggs, Bostic, Tilman, Conte and Wright).

FYI, Wright tweeted later that those numbers are draft picks and undrafted free agents.

Following that link, there's an article where Michael Silver predicts big things for Cutler this year:

Hope it happens.

But yeah, the Bengals are kind of an up and coming pick this year. They can do fine and I won't care, just as long as they spend this week not looking very good :)

It's officially the NFL season! Someone has picked the Cowboys to win the East!
