Sounds like Mannelly is stepping down and either McNeil comes back or they scrap it and bring over @thekapman and Haugh.

I don't see any of those guys coming back. Bernstein would spontaneously combust of Kap and/or Haugh got hired and I don't think the executives at the Score trust McNeil to finish any contract he signs.

My guess is that Mannelly is stepping down to make room for someone specifically. A radio guy perhaps...that has been in the industry a while and he feels like he's taking some "radio guy's" spot. Ben Finfer maybe?

I like Ben Finfer but could he really get a job in a large market after his very public outburst that sort of made national headlines (via deadspin)? I guess if he would get a job anywhere it would be with the Score who is very familiar with him and could look past it.

Anyways I am not sure what the ratings are but I've heard nothing but positive comments towards Mannelly. I don't think he'd be asked to step down for someone like Finfer. It has to be McNeil

So does this have to do with his on air disagreement with Bernstein?

Bernstein has been notably meaybally about Marshall and Cutler lately snd Mannelly shut him up.

Why does he necessarily have to have been asked to step down?

That's how I took Banedon's post.

He's not a big enough name for the midday slot. I'd rather have Holmes take that job and put Finfer into Loho's evening spot. The evening spot is only on 60% of the time anyway. Too bad for Jason Goff. He had been waiting for an opening for years and then not too long after he left the McNeil saga began and now Mannelly is gone. I heard that he wasn't good terms with CBS after getting fired in Atlanta so he's not coming back.

LoHo is doing the 120sports.com thing in the afternoon which prevents him from being able to do midday on the Score.

Well we know he's stepping away...he tweeted that he'd explain why today. But I just wonder if it was a voluntary thing because he knew that there were other radio guys looking for work in the wake of The Game going belly up.

It has to be McNeil

How on earth could they trust McNeil to even show up on a regular basis at this point?

He probably quit because he went from being an athlete for a living to going into a studio and dealing with the irritating score personalities and he hated it.

He's still gonna be working with The Score all the time during the football season. He actually seemed to really get along with everyone involved.

I don't think it's a coincidence that this is happening right after the football season ends.

Mannelly said he found out during this co-hosting gig he realized he wants to stick to football analysis...he's a fan of the other sports, but just not passionate about it enough.

No new hosts announced yet. Pat's last day will be the 13th. Will still be with the station doing football analysis.

That was pretty apparent, but I thought he did a nice job. I liked him, but he was very vanilla.

I thought he was great. I'd have liked to have seen him give it a full year before making a decision like this, but I understand it.

Wannstedt has been getting a push right now. Wonder if it could be him?

He seems to fit really well with Mully and Hanley, but I don't see him midday. I mean...he's another football guy...an older Mannelly.

What is Wanny doing these days besides coming on the score once a week? He's only 62, I'm surprised he's still not trying to coach somewhere in some capacity.
