The remains of Brett Jackson. Vizcaino.

I said important.

I have trouble putting Soler on that list, though I can't say he doesn't belong there. Vizcaino lost a season.

Szczur still didn't break out, but I wasn't all that high on him to begin with. Paniagua sucks.

Way too early to say that about Paniagua.

I'm very disappointed with Paniagua's season. Too early to say he sucks. But it's easy to be disappointed with his debut.

I'm disappointed as well, I was hoping he'd be a top 50-100 prospect right now. He's obviously developed some command issues, but the stuff is still there at least. Hell, Rivero looked lije total [expletive] for a few weeks abd then-Interesting as hell. Maybe I have too much confidence in our guys, but I fully expect him to be fixed, maybe even this year.

How much more do we need to see before we can ascertain that Derek Johnson is a thing?

I'll hope that Goony's post isn't a precursor to anything bad obviously and go ahead and say I can see Pierce starting in AA next year and makes his major league debut sometime late next year......

If you mean the uncomfortable comment, I don't think it was anything. More like a combination of tiring and sweating profusely in the heat, late in the game. They pulled him after his 7th K.

Good, I get nervous on anything involving pitching. Gotta wonder why he hasn't gotten more national pub, by the way. He's taken the same path Matt Barnes did last year. Barnes was better in A ball, but Pierce has been better in A+.

Barnes got more pub because he was a first rounder (not sandwich like Johnson) in a stronger draft, with a slightly better FB.

He can always do the "we finally got his mechanics worked out and now he's awesome" thing, but last I checked, he presently sucks.

True, but you sometimes need to let talent work itself out. You're clamoring for Javy to be inside all top 10 lists now, two months ago you were doubting he was a top 75 guy.

I'm all about giving the FO props, but this shouldn't happen until some of these guys see success in the majors. Nothing against DJ, its certainly trending the way we want it to.

15 prospects were ranked ahead of Baez before the season started.

1. Jurickson Profar, ss/2b, TEX

2. Dylan Bundy, rhp, BAL

3. Oscar Taveras, of, STL

4. Wil Myers, of/3b, TB

5. Jose Fernandez, rhp, MIA

6. Shelby Miller, rhp, STL

7. Gerrit Cole, rhp, PIT

8. Xander Bogaerts, ss, BOS

9. Miguel Sano, 3b, MIN

10. Byron Buxton, of, MIN

11. Zack Wheeler, rhp, NYM

12. Tyler Skaggs, lhp, ARI

13. Carlos Correa, ss, HOU

14. Trevor Bauer, rhp, CLE

15. Christian Yelich, of, MIA

By midseason, that list was down to 9

1. Byron Buxton of Twins

2. Oscar Taveras of Cardinals

3. Miguel Sano 3b Twins

4. Xander Bogaerts ss Red Sox

5. Francisco Lindor ss Indians

6. Archie Bradley rhp Diamondbacks

7. Taijuan Walker rhp Mariners

8. Christian Yelich of Marlins

9. Carlos Correa ss Astros

Only Yelich has graduated from that list. Buxton, Sano, Bogaerts and Bradley are definitely still ahead of him. Taveras likely will be since they will give him one injury-season freebie. Lindor and Walker are 50/50 shots to be above Baez.

I think he's surpassed Correa at this point, unless Correa gets promoted to High-A soon and continues what he's doing at Quad City. I know BA loves Johnathon Gray, who I could see jumping Baez if he gets called to AA for the playoffs and pitches well. And with how much Callis loves Kris Bryant, he might jump him too if he blows Daytona out of the WATER THAT HAS ACCUMULATED FROM THE TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS THERE BY THE WAY [expletive] YOU DAYTONA.

So anyway, I'm guessing Baez stays in the top 10.

Callis has Bryant ahead of Baez as of two weeks ago.

Everyone loves Correa, since he's 18 all season, with how he's played, I can understand if he's ranked over Javy. By the way, Villanueva just doubled. He's now 7 for his last 14, with 4 2B's and 2 HR's.

I'll be surprised and disappointed if Baez isn't in almost all top 10s.

Granted, Baez has been on a tear, but Parks, Callis and Law have all said he's not even the #1 prospect in the system as of a month ago (give or take).

If this [expletive] keeps up I'm going to really get delusional about an all prospect team.

Can Tanaka count towards that?

Sure. Rookie. That counts.

We're going to win the World Series with a payroll under 50 million.

Pierce Johnson over his last 5 starts: 26 2/3 IP, 19 hits, 1 ER, 25Ks. Does have 10 walks though. His only non-stellar outing at Daytona since his first 2, was in relief as a piggyback starter.
