Oh Truffle.... If Rizzo continues to play like he does now, he won't be our starting 1B through that contract.

You haven't made a point that justifies the condescension you're using.

So in 2017, who's on first? Vogelbach or Rizzo?

I think Vogelbach will be traded by 2017

I think Rizzo gets traded.

The FO really regards defense highly and Vogelbach (even with some improvement) isnt close to Rizzo defensively

Get his ass to KC so he has a chance to start in Daytona next year.

edit: F, forgot about Candelario.

i would say that bryant will probably start in daytona next year regardless of where he plays the rest of this season. although candelario's presence does make things a little more complicated. candelario should move up a level and bryant is too advanced for the low minors. maybe they do a platoon where one plays 3b and the other plays 1b or corner OF. wouldn't surprise me if bryant could handle AA right now, frankly.

in other news, all the tennessee hitters have reached base safely except for baez. :( he's 0-4 but at least he hasn't struck out (2 ground outs, 2 fly outs)

Daytona has the DH. They could alternate 3B and DH. Maybe some 1b (Jeimer) and OF (Bryant) also. I'd guess both will start at Daytona, with the goal of Bryant forcing a promotion after a couple months at most.

That's how I see it playing out, too.

He'll be in Tampa in a deal for David Price.

How so? Not comparing Rizzo to anyone else here. I'm just saying if Rizzo doesn't develop our plans will be changed.......

Underwood starting to find some control. He had 1 walk no hits no runs in 3 innings tonight. That makes 3 walks in his last 10 innings vs 12 walks in the previous 16.1.

Hendricks final line for his AAA debut: 7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 9/3 GO/FO on 89 pitches.

The box score now has the run as unearned.

low babip, doubles turning into home runs as he matures, plus defense, etc.

rizzo would be a bargain at 1b for the next 6 seasons even if he continues to produce at the current level.

Vogelbach's OPS is only .034 higher and he's in low-A and plays much worse defense. And Rizzo just turned 24 today.

@BoiseHawksRadio: @BoiseHawks 4, Vancouver 1 (end 5) Bryant flies out to deep LF to end inning. Such great bat speed.

The "Oh Truffle" is a bit asinine. Also, Rizzo is only 24 and having a pretty decent year. The guy isn't done adjusting or developing. The odds of Vogelbach or 95% of prospects producing like Rizzo has in the majors are small.

Armando "I guess he's better than Torreyes" Rivero got promoted to Daytona? I hadn't noticed that.

Struck out two in a perfect inning tonight. Arguello said the other day that he showed up with his delivery all screwy early in the year and it robbed him of about 6 MPH, but it was fixed recently and he's been on a tear ever since.

He's a nice prospect, but I'd put it way less than 50/50 that Vogelbach is ever an MLB regular.

I'll disagree with that. I feel very confident in his hitting, it likely will be as a DH, but I do see him as a major league regular.
