I realize I'm just being lazy, but could we add WHIP to the stats for the expected starters?

meh. just look at FIP if you want to be lazy.

beyond that, if you want to be less lazy, K/BB, K/9, BB/9

Boise Hawks Radio Blog[/url]"]Second-baseman Danny Lockhart has been sent to Boise from AAA Iowa; former Hawks pitcher Jose Rosario has been sent to Boise from Class-A Kane County; former Hawks pitcher Jose Arias joins Boise from Class-A Kane County; pitcher Rob Zastryzny has been promoted to Class-A Kane County; and catcher Cael Brockmeyer has been promoted to AAA Iowa.

Great to see Arias out of the complex league on rehab. He had a monster fall at Instructs before getting hurt a week or so into the season at Kane County.

Daytona Cubs @daytonacubs

The Cubs & Threshers are in a little delay to let a storm pass on by after last night's mess. Stay tuned for a start time. Anyone surprised?

@jimcallisBA: That's his ultimate ceiling, yes. More likely tops out as a No. 4 SP. @frankhutch89: what is hendricks projected upside? No 3? #Cubs

@harrypav: Hendricks looked very Hendricks-like. 90 mph, on the edges with movement. Throws across his body a wee bit.

Alcantara back in the lineup, 2 for 2 with a SB thus far.

The only explanation is that Hendricks is the next Greg Maddux and scouts will study him for the next 20 years trying to figure out what they missed.

Get his ass to KC so he has a chance to start in Daytona next year.

edit: F, forgot about Candelario.

i would say that bryant will probably start in daytona next year regardless of where he plays the rest of this season. although candelario's presence does make things a little more complicated. candelario should move up a level and bryant is too advanced for the low minors. maybe they do a platoon where one plays 3b and the other plays 1b or corner OF. wouldn't surprise me if bryant could handle AA right now, frankly.

in other news, all the tennessee hitters have reached base safely except for baez. :( he's 0-4 but at least he hasn't struck out (2 ground outs, 2 fly outs)

Pierce Johnson's final line: 5 IP, 2 hits, 0 er, 3bbs, 6ks

Baez 0-4, but no Ks. Did fly out with the bases loaded, no outs earlier in the game.

i like hendricks. seems pretty efficient. i see that his ground out/fly out ratio went from 1.03 in 2011 (n limited action, mostly pitching relief), to 1.46 in 2012, to 1.80 this year. wonder if that's something he's been working on. hopefully he gets a legitimate shot at the 5th starter role in spring training next year.

Daytona has the DH. They could alternate 3B and DH. Maybe some 1b (Jeimer) and OF (Bryant) also. I'd guess both will start at Daytona, with the goal of Bryant forcing a promotion after a couple months at most.
