I was going to post about Three Amigos prior to seeing that link.

I liked Pure Luck when I was a kid, but that probably doesn't hold up very well at all.

And the synchronized swimming sketch on SNL you monster.

Martin Short was cringeworthy bad on AD.

Short was great on SCTV back in the day. I don't imagine many of you whippersnappers will remember it though.

The Martin Short AD episodes are completely terrible.

Thankfully he's only in one.

For some reason I thought it was two..maybe that's how bad it was.

Hey I think this thread officially has more posts about Martin Short than the Cubs new manager, so that's cool.

Since this post names Martin Short but leaves the manager unnamed, is it a wash or does it only count as a Martin Short post?

Former Chicago Cubs third baseman Bill Mueller is a candidate to become the team’s new hitting coach, a major league source confirmed Tuesday.

The source also confirmed that minor league instructors Gary Jones of the San Diego Padres and Bruce Fields of the Detroit Tigers are candidates to become base coaches.

I'd love Mueller back in the organization. One of my favorite players. Seems like he'd be a good instructor. Has he coached before?

He was with the Dodgers in some capacity last year. Maybe as an assistant GM?

He was with the Dodgers in some capacity last year. Maybe as an assistant GM?

On November 17, 2006, the Dodgers announced that Mueller was retiring from baseball and had been hired as a special assistant to the GM.[4]

On June 15, 2007, Mueller was named Los Angeles Dodgers interim hitting coach when Eddie Murray was fired. After a month on the job, manager Grady Little announced that the Dodgers would be removing the "interim" tag and that Mueller would remain the teams's hitting coach through the end of the season.[5]

After the season, it was announced that Mueller would be giving up his role as hitting coach to return to a front office position.[6]

Mueller served as a Special Assistant to General Manager Ned Colletti through the 2012 season, when he left that position to become a full-time scout.[7]

So with Dale gone, is the philosophy of wanting their hitters to generate more power by hitting to their pull fields being scrapped ? Its why Dale reworked Barney's approach, why he gave up on Lahair, why Castro lost his timing... have Jed or Theo spoke to this since the firing?

I guess I'm just adding to the problem.
