Ryan Kalish was packing up his apartment and eating at Chipotle when agent called, telling him #Cubs wanted him at Wrigley

@CarrieMuskat how could he be packing up his apartment and eating at chipotle at the same time?

Carrie Muskat @CarrieMuskat . 15m

My mistake, turns out it was Brett Jackson serving #Chipotle

#Cubs have won 6 straight home games for 1st time since June 29-July 15, 2002, vs Astros, D-backs

kind of shocked this didn't happen once in 08

i realize it's more of a happenstance thing but we were pretty awesome at home

Everyone be surprised that Carrie Muskat is wrong. They won 13 consecutive home games in 2008

I count 14 ... 5/18 - 6/22

Amazing, over a month without a home loss.

that span includes that amazing rockies win, which makes it even cooler

Yeah, looked it up, they were playing the Astros, D-backs in 2012, not 2002. Must have just been a typo on her part.

at the very least, this is probably a case of old lady confused about what decade it is. doubt it was just a typo.

Apparently it was from the team notes:

@JordanBernfield

Checked 2008, #Cubs had longer home winning streak. Stat I tweeted was from team's post game notes. Thanks @AlexBerngard for the tip.

Cubs (35-33) have a better home record than teams like the Dodgers, Mariners and Rays and have a similar record to the Yankees (35-33 vs 34-32)

12 years is a really long time to go without winning six home games in a row. Seems like something you'd double check no matter where it came from.

I remember that 13-game streak because I went to the Orioles series right after it where they promptly lost 2 out of 3.

at least, you know, check that one year when the Cubs were the best team in the league.

This reminds me of the writers who all blamed USC for not fact checking the "saved his 7-year old cousin from drowning story." Some of them were all like, "what were we supposed to do if the team told us this is what happened?"

Yeah, they've been all over Javy. I've been surprised that the national media hasn't latched on a bit harder.

it's pennant race time, the Cubs are way out of the race and javy has a 600 OPS. I would not expect the national baseball media to care much about the Cubs right now.

Ugh, I went to the first game in that series. I actually left happy that game because I realized that even those the Cubs were losing the whole game, I felt good about our odds of coming back and winning. Then the Cubs came into the 9th down, I want to say 7-4, and loaded the bases with 0 outs. They promptly scored 0 runs and lost but whatever.
