Wellington Castillo is out for the year with a partially torn meniscus. Theo also said he is now "part of the core"

God, I sure hope so! He has been one of few bright spots on the offense this year.

Sisco had just been drafted the summer before the 2002 list. He was #53 on the 2003 list.

Sisco references make me cry.

Andrew Cashner out-fWARed Rizzo this year.

Can someone discuss Andrew Cashner when he pitches in San Diego and when he pitches elsewhere? I'm not great at breaking down all the numbers, but it seems like his value is elevated even more based on where he plays.

Numbers are obviously worse on the road, but NL West parks are pretty hitter friendly outside of Petco so it's not fair to consider that any sort of true talent level. HR rate is roughly the same home/away, but he's giving up ~twice as many doubles on the road, and must be nibbling a lot more because he's walking guys at twice the rate away vs home as well.

Coors is actually the only hitters park in the NL West, this year at least. Chase normally favors hitters but was 15th this year, and Dodger Stadium(27th) and AT&T(29th) are both extreme pitchers parks.

Wrigley was 2nd to Coors this year, interestingly enough.

Well [expletive] me, when did Chase swing so wildly?

I just edited, this year is a bit of an outlier for Chase, which is normally in the 5-10 range.

For an organization in desparate need of money it seems they could have sold off this crap to morons for actual cash instead of just tossing them in the dumpster. Just a thought.

More closed roof games this year?
