I can't say that I am at all hopeful for Maples. Terrible start to his career. I hope he turns into something but he was a reach.

A reach? He was a surprise signing in the 14th round. Exactly the chance you take at that point.

Maybe "reach" is the wrong term, but we paid him like a much higher pick.

The guy was projected to be a late 1st round to supplemental round talent. He fell due to what was considered a rock-solid commit to UNC. But he was considered one of the very best HS arms in that draft. It doesn't appear its working out for us, but if the draft were the same way, its a play I make over and over and over again.

Is Brett Jackson hurt? He's not in the Iowa lineup tonight.

He played last night. No idea. May have some sort of lingering thing going on though, since he missed another game this week?

Soler isn't in Daytona's lineup.

Not surprising. Just because his suspension is over doesn't mean the Cubs will promptly send him up.

Obviously I was wrong, but it does surprise me. He's been keeping active in Arizona. What does he gain from sitting out more?
