So is this still happening because he's a Proven Closer, because Hoyer is fantasizing over getting some 24-year-old A-ball pitching "prospect" at the deadline for him, or because Theo just doesn't care?

And which answer is less rage-inducing?

Marmol aside, this all goes back to not scoring one damn run with the bases loaded and no outs.

Fujikawa was awful, Marmol was Marmol, but it's all about stepping on their throat and they just didn't do it.

I vote tanking for draft picks.

Nah, it's a total team effort. All three things you mentioned did the Cubs in tonight.

None of the three could pick the other two up.

Please stop with the "Theo doesn't care" meme. It's really annoying.

Yeah, no kidding; the game was still easily winnable after the 8th. Winning by one run or eight is the same end result.

D: Because 2-3 months of good results outweigh 3 appearances.

I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Because if what's happened so far in 167 games is the job he does when he does care, it does not reflect well on him.

Only if you look at it through crazy goggles, perhaps.
