hawks are halfway through what would be a normal 82 game season at 32-5-4 (68 points). Projected record of 64-10-8 (136 points) over a full season.

I want the Blues in the first round so bad.

1. They aren't that good.

2. They're a bunch of [expletive] punks.

3. We'd run them off the ice for 4 straight games.

Plus on a personal level, getting to shove it up the ass of cocky St. Louis fans for a week, end another season where it's "their year!" and getting to go to a game or two also help.

They are the one team most likely to deliberately try to re-create the Hossa situation from last year. Yes, we can beat them but it's silly to say you want them over all other teams in the first round. Let someone else dispatch with their thug asses.

Let's look at the last 3 teams in the playoffs right now.

Blues

Wild

Red Wings

Wild are easily the most talented team. Do you think the Blues are going to goon more than Detroit? Even though most of Detroit is near death, they are going to goon it up more. This is the last chance of either team to be shitty to the other. Who is going to be shittier? The more physical Blues, or the dying old Red Wings who don't care anymore and are just trying to make more people die? It's easy.

Yes, the Stars or Columbus or Phoenix could accidentally fart their way into the playoffs but odds are it won't happen. Blues are our easiest go-through to the second round. Probably a sweep, 5 games tops.

Who will goon it up more? The Blues and by a lot. The Wings probably still believe that they can skate with the Hawks. Their game has been more about skill than size. They have a few dirty players but I'd expect them to play it clean in the playoffs, at least until they're down 0-3 in the series.

The Blues only chance of success against the Hawks is to make it a slug fest since they really don't have any scoring talent up front.

So as it stands right now we need 4 points to clinch the conference and 9 points to clinch home ice throughout the playoffs with 7 games left to play?

Kaner has been known to be a little dirty at times. But maybe there he was just trying to keep his balance. Maybe.

Really, it should be 5 games tops against any of those 3, but the NHL playoffs scare me because of the history of wash outs.

I think I would take the Wings. I haven't really seen the goon factor from them this year, like I just saw from the Blues. That doesn't mean it wouldn't happen.

I'd love to send the Wings out of the conference with a drubbing in the playoffs. Would make me smile much more than dispatching the Blues.

I think even if The Wings wanted to goon it up, who would do it? They didn't do it last year even with Weber's dirty hit. I would be shocked if anything more then Tootoo getting into a stupid fight would happen. Plus, I really do not think The Wings think of The Hawks as a "heated" rival. I think if they were going to goon it up, San Jose would probably be more of a target.

We're dominating again, but man does our PP suck. Geez. They all look lost out there on the PP.

Yeah, sometimes I have to check the scoreboard to see if we are on a power play or not, because it's not obvious. Sometimes our 5 v 5 looks more like we are on a PP than the power play.

I don't really get it. Hope it doesn't hurt us in the playoffs.

Another PP for us. We have to score on one of these, right?

Edit: Well, I guess that one looked a little better.
