Do we have a goalie controversy? Not that Crow has played badly, I just think that Emery has really been playing some great goaltending.

Before Thursday's game all the talk was that Q was setting up Crow to be the man in the playoffs. One slightly off night and the whole story is different.

Emery has been the hot goalie in the playoffs before. That counts for something. But it's got to be whoever is playing best in two weeks.

Hot damn Saad is good. So confident too just made an amazing feather pass. What a find he was.

wondering if he could make the olympic team.

I've got to think he would.

i knew the hawks were running away with the goal-differential in the west, but i didn't realize they've scored the most goals and also given up the fewest.... by a lot

Leddy too. In fact Leddy might have less competition because of his position.

Looking at the last 5 games for each, they've both had Anaheim and Nash (before the game against Emery, Nash traded their leading scorer in Erat). In the other games, Crawford faced the King, Blues and Wings (all playoff teams) while Emery faced Colorado twice and the Flames once. There's no goalie controversy. Crawford has been playing against better teams. The team in front of Crawford has been disinterested at times, especially at home in the 3rd period.

In 2010, Huet and Niemi took turns crapping the bed during March before Q decided to go with Niemi as the starter. Emery has been better than anyone could have expected, and he may contribute during the playoffs but when the team in front of him actually cares Crawford gives the Hawks the best chance of beating good teams.

Keith does some stupid [expletive] every game. He's either falling all over himself or he's making a stupid pass.

Hawks sweep the home and home!

They would be on pace for 134 points in an 82 game season. To compare, the most points scored by a team since the 1st lockout was 124 by the Wings back in like 2005. The most points ever in a season is 132 by the 76-77 Habs.

man, how good can saad be? he is lighting it up right now. even if they don't win the cup this year, the emergence of saad and leddy is huge going forward.

also, they now have the best goals per game average in the entire nhl, AND the best goals against. that's hard to do.

also, kane might be the favorite for the mvp right now, assuming crosby misses most of these last regular season games. he's 10 points back of sid with 10 games left, so as long as he finishes with around the same amount of points, he'll get the edge with more goals. i don't see stamkos or st. louis winning it, but kunitz could. he might be kane's biggest competetion.

Well, they are basically tied with the Penguins for the best offense, and tied with Boston for the best defense.

Yeah, sorry to Carcillo, but his injury may have been one of the best things that happened to the Hawks this season.

Brandon Saad

first 8 games- 0 goals, 0 Assists 0 total points

next 30 games- 9 goals, 14 Assists 23 total points

Translated to a full season, that's 20-25 goals, 35-40 assists.

Just to put that into perspective:

Patrick Kane's rookie year 21 Goals 51 assists--year 2 25 G 45 A

Jonathon Toews rookie year 24 Goals 30 assists--year 2 34g 35 A
