Eagles to interview Lovie on Thursday.

 

Among the Eagles fans I know (a pretty large group) the #1 complaint about Reid is that all he does is throw the ball. If you go by the old theory that teams often go for polar opposite in coaches (hot head to stoic, DC to OC, former college coach to longtime NFL coach) then Reid to Lovie makes quite a bit of sense. He'd change up their style of defense, which has been underwhelming, and call for a more balanced run/pass system.

I do think Lovie dealing with that fan base/media will be interesting.

Rob Ryan was just fired. Not sure yet if Garrett is going to give up play calling duties. Will be an interesting couple of weeks for the Cowboys.

 

Got to live the Ryan's:

"I inherited a team that was 31st in the league in defense and made them better," Ryan told ESPNDallas.com's Tim MacMahon. "I (expletive) made them a hell of a lot better. I'll be out of work for like five minutes."

Rumor that the Jags are about to fire their HC, Mike Mularkey.

 

Not a big surprise after Jags assistant coaches were told they could seek other employment recently. Probably a good move too.

I'm hearing that Kiffin could be named Cowboys DC by as early as tomorrow.

 

I'm not sure how I feel about that.

 

His reputation as a quality coordinator is solid, but I'm not sure our personel fit the cover-2 scheme.

 

Our CB are more press corners.

 

Those of you with a little more knowledge of Kiffin, tell me what you think.

I was really hoping for Lovie Smith, will settle for Kiffen but also unsure.

Rumor is floating around that Norv Turner will join Rob Chudzinski in Cleveland as OC.

I like the hire. I'll love it if it brings Norv.

 

Update: Cleveland local sports are saying Norv is coming as well as Norv's son.
