LOL. A Lions player just signaled for a fair catch at the 4 yard line on the free kick after the safety when there wasn't a Falcons player within 30 yards of him.

reminds me of tecmo super bowl where i'd purposely down the ball at the 1 yard line to set up an easy 99 yard bo jackson touchdown run

I pretty much agree with Gruden that the record is somewhat tainted because of all the garbage yards, and that it was obtained largely through a 7-game losing streak during a lost season. Also throw in the terrible TD total. It's not Bonds-esque or anything, and in 20 years most people will probably forget how bad the Lions were this year. Hats off nonetheless. Guy is pretty much the only reason I watched this game.

But how do you even gain that many yards with only 5 TDs?

Gruden was being a total idiot about that last night; Jerry Rice had 9 other pro bowlers on that team!

Calvin's been double- & triple-teamed the majority of offensive snaps this year, with teams playing their two safeties exaggeratedly deep much of the year to shut down the deep ball. on the goal line, he's attracted so much attention that we've had an easy time opting to run it in with LeShoure and Stafford, despite our usually terrible run blocking

i think this picture about sums it up

I'm a bit behind but after getting sacked, Cam Newton kicked out at Tommy Kelly right in front of a referee and Kelly got called for a 15-yard penalty. What a joke.

Also, I love how when Carson Palmer gets hurt, the Raiders choose to go with Matt Leinart before seeing what Terrelle Pryor can do. Pryor might be terrible, but at least give him a shot.

What a BS roughing call on the play that took Palmer out

And they also got screwed on a ridiculous helmet-to-helmet call on a defenseless receiver that was neither helmet to helmet nor a defenseless receiver. Not that this game matters at all.

Are you talking about the one early in the fourth quarter in the red zone? Because that one was absolutely a helmet to helmet.

No, I'm on DVR and haven't gotten there yet. I'm referring to the one on Kuechly in the first half.

ETA: I just caught a ridiculous one on a Raider against Greg Olsen, so it looks like they're just idiots today.

Ah, that one I'm not sure about. Haven't been paying too close attention to the game so I probably missed that one.

Fourth down and Matt Leinart throws the ball 10 yards out of bounds. [expletive] wonderful.

Cincy about to clinch the final AFC playoff spot. Seeding is still to be determined as well as the AFC North champion, though.

Witten sets a record for catches by a tight end in a season with 103.

Frustrating as it is to say I'm impressed. Can't see them losing in the dome to clinch a playoff spot but who knows.

You can't see them losing to a team they already lost to this year? Green Bay still has a shot at a first-round bye and could even control its own destiny if SF loses tonight.

If the Niners win tonight, that game next Sunday will basically be meaningless for the Packers. There's no chance that the Niners lose at home to Arizona next weekend.

Seattle isn't going to lose up there.

I wish I was that confident. Unfortunately they'll likely have a shot at the #2 spot this week so I expect them to approach it all out.

The Vikings really were in a great position to win at Lambeau. They got hosed on a ridiculous roughing penalty that wiped out an Allen pick that would have had us at their 16 with a 14-10 lead. Then with that same lead Ponder threw an awful pick in their end zone and another pick in the red zone while trailing by 6 to end the 3rd.

Obviously he could do the same but the D is playing much better and these Packers don't scare me as much as the last couple of years. Mainly because our pass defense can put up some resistance finally.

They had a graphic up during the Packers game saying the Packers had to win both and SF had to lose one. So either way the Packers have to win next week.
