Calvin Johnson has a decent shot at breaking Rice's record for receiving yards in a season (1848). He only needs 303 yards over his last three games to do it.

RGIII only has a sprained ligament(s) in his knee, probably only will miss a week at most. But looks like it's pretty reasonable for him to play this week.

Donte Stallworth is still in the league?

He didn't mean to kill that guy.

Brady has been way off target on some of these throws.

He's taken some decent hits in this game, Watt's gotten him good a few times right after he's thrown the ball.

What a giant mess for nothing.

Tagliabue vacates the player suspensions for bounty-gate.

The cherry on the top of a bad year for Goodell.

Is Schwartz going to get fired?

I don't think he's going to. I would think that reaching the postseason last year bought him a year like this one. Now if they fail to reach the postseason again next year, I think he'll be canned.

why would Schwartz get fired? we overachieved in a big way last year, and similarly underachieved this year; we're still lacking in depth some from the mess Millen left and you see that with the secondary we've had to put out there and awful special teams play

it's amusing though, that we actually have a better point differential than the 9-4 Colts

ROFL...Peter King is a statistical GENIUS:

Wow. I'd really be interested to see expanded numbers on this. How far back do you think this trend goes? He could really be on to something here! Haha

I think the point was that in the last 7 years the SB winning teams have had to win 12 times on the road. Meaning they've been the lower seed 12 times.

More teams = more games = $$$$$$

How would they do a 14 team playoffs? So it'll be 4 division winners and 3 wild cards? Would that make it only the 1 seed get the bye and everyone else plays? Then 1 seed gets the lowest seed and the other 2 plays each other.

16 teams is just stupid.

BTW... I want it to stay at 12. No need to expand the playoffs.

I actually don't mind 14. Then the 1 seed means something and those guys are playing all the way to the end of the season. Additionally, no 10 win team would likely ever get boned out of making the playoffs. On the other hand, the AFC playoffs this year would be even more wretched.

It would help out Fantasy Football as well.

No 10 win team would get left out, but the chances of sub-500 teams getting in are increased.

How does the 1 seed not mean anything now? A bye. Home field advantage, and get to play the lower seed. It doesn't guarantee you anything but it means something.

Going back to 2002 (first year of 4 division alignment), 6 teams have been left out of the playoffs with at least 10 wins, including the 2008 Brady-less Patriots who had 11 wins.

If there were an additional wild card since 2002, NOT ONE team with a losing record would have made the postseason as a Wild Card.

However, there would have been 4 8-8 teams that would have made it, including, miraculously on a win% in common games tiebreaker, the 2011 Chicago Bears!

It would mean a lot more if you were the only team to get the bye week.

Sure, it would mean more. But it means plenty now and I don't think that "making it more meaningful" should be any motivation at this point. The 1 seed can be a hell of a lot more about the luck of the draw in schedule than who is the more deserving team.

Stafford needs to shave his head.
