I don't mean to sound insensitive but there are a million TV channels where people can watch the President give a speech in CT. There's no reason to cut away from the football game.

I really wish NBC had cut to a commercial first before going straight to Tom Brady walking off the field. Just a peculiar segueway.

Divisional rules are always applied first to eliminate teams even if the thing being decided is a wildcard spot. That's true even if there is a team from another division that is also tied. In this particular case, since the Cowboys and Redskins play, the only way the Giants could end up tied with one of them for a wildcard spot would be at 9-7.

True about the East WC tie. Didn't realize that about the division rules going first when a division is not up for grabs and there is a team outside the division involved in the tie.

I really hope that someone takes out the 49ers so the Packers don't have to play them in the playoffs. I don't think that happens though as I am pretty sure they are going to win the Super Bowl.

It didn't touch him.

 

The 9ers need to fix their return game. It's not that hard to back off from the football, especially in slick conditions like that.

Tomlinson in '06. Shaun Alexander won it in '05.

 

I'm incredibly biased but he should win it. Yeah Manning has been awesome but they went to the playoffs without a QB last year. The Vikings were 3-13 last year, have the 26th ranked pass offense this year and are 8-6 because he's going to have 1,900-2,100 yards against 8 and 9 man fronts all [expletive] year. They've been without Percy for almost half the year. It's absurd.

Peterson should absolutely win the thing. He's incredible. It's mind-boggling what he's doing.

If Minny does make the playoffs, it's going to be close between him and Peyton.

Is there a reason he couldn't have done it 30 minutes earlier between the afternoon games and the night game?

It certainly wouldn't be that surprising to see the Pats come back from 28 down but to do it in less than a half against the 49ers defense would be incredible.

Agreed, if they don't make the playoffs someone else might win. But if breaks the single season record that might not matter. Brady and Manning will be in a close second I think.

peterson's rep league-wide is high enough that i dont think he'll have a problem if he breaks 2,000 yards. Chris Johnson was seen as a speed back novelty, all gold teeth and braids. At this point, considering the injury last year and the [expletive] freak show that he's putting up every week, I think he'll get it as long as he doesn't have a 50-yard stinker in the next two weeks.

I especially love how they employ a guy convicted of manslaughter and a guy who beats up cab drivers.

 

I would employ a seriel killer if it meant we can win a Super Bowl.
