Nice preview. Although, I think teams just test the Bears OLine with blitzes & different looks regardless - provided they have the ability to do so. Carimi playing G doesn't really change that formula very much, IMO. They could just as easily test him playing RT, knowing he hasn't handled that position very well either.

I don't see that as a bad matchup specifically for this game. It's just a tough thing for the Bears to deal with every week. Sometimes they get it done (Webb last week against Allen, for example). Sometimes they really get hosed (49ers).

I basically blew off the Seahawks as a mid-range club, and their record combined with their inability to win on the road seemed to support that.

But looking at the DVOAs, it's a different story. They are easily the highest ranked team with a 6-5 record, and actually outrank the Bears right now. Also, they held steady in spite of their loss last week.

It is uncanny how you can just chalk up home wins and away losses for them, almost regardless of opponent. Wins at home against Green Bay, NE. Losses on the road against MIA, STL.

Ultimately, I really hope that continues -- that is all.

I'm gonna go Bears 20, Seahawks 17.

Yeah it will be interesting. Seattle's road futility means nothing to me because they know how to win here. Although we win that game last year with ease if Cutler/Forte plays. The year before they had Hasselbeck, but Wilson might be better. We'll see.

I'll say the game goes a lot like the Carolina game did.

Bears 24

Seahawks 23

What does that even mean?

You even pretty much went on to point out two pretty good reasons why it's pretty much meaningless that they won the last two regular season games.

Seattle must have the best HFA in the NFL. That home/road split is really weird. Win vs NE at home, but loss to Miami on the road. smh

12th Man, False Start City, etc.

There really is a higher occurrence of false start penalties in Seattle than any other stadium.

That's what "although" is for. As bad as Seattle has been on the road in recent years, they have road wins here each of the past two seasons. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.

I'm gonna go ahead with the former. And minus the maybe.

well, like you said, they have a road win because any quarterback other than cutler gets eaten by zombies and becomes a zombie themselves and then wanders around the post-apocalyptic landscape until whenever it is zombies die, if they even do.

seriously, nobody else can make this offense go.

Sure, that helps. But it shouldn't be so completely overwhelming an advantage.

Shouldn't, and for most teams it isn't, for them it is.

I might be making this up, but I think there's a long term correlation to West Coast teams not covering the spread when they play early games in CST/EST.

People on the Seattle message boards are not just worried that it's a round game, but also that it's an early game.

lol...road game. What an odd mistype. Wonder what I was thinking of/listening to at that moment.

Briggs, Tillman and Forte all practiced today and are expected to play Sunday. Spencer won't.
