Well that sucks. I hope Allen gets a suspension but I doubt it will happen. At least a heavy fine. Seriously, how many players are we going to lose to cheap shots this year.

edit: Hell, Suh got a two game suspension for kicking a guy last year while he was down. Concussing Cutler and knocking Louis out for the the year are a hell of a lot worse than that...

Richard Sherman - DB - Seahawks

A league source tells Profootballtalk.com the NFL plans to hear Seahawks CBs Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner's appeals of their four-game suspensions next week.

The league wants to fast track the process, though Sherman and Browner are hoping to have the proceedings delayed. Per PFT, they are alleging "irregularities in the collection process," a la Ryan Braun. If the appeal isn't delayed and the bans are upheld, Seattle will lose its starting cornerback duo for its final four games, essentially torpedoing its playoff chances.

#Bears RG Lance Louis will require surgery to repair a torn ACL. He is in final year of his rookie contract.

So, a guy his size, he's probably done for next year too right? I can't imagine bringing an OL back from injury in December next year....

This means they will definitely play next week, which is all I care about.

Estimation I saw on twitter was 8-10 months.

I think he'll be back. I know he's not Peterson, but if he can play after the same surgery on New Years, then I would think Louis could make it back by at least October having the surgery a month earlier and not having to be concerned about cutting and planting. Bigger concern is he is a FA and do u resign him if u don't know if he's healthy until right before the season.

Ugh, even with that I'm still guessing they won't bring him back then.

Add Allen to the list of players who should really receive some kind of karmic whack in the face.

Well, I hope James Brown is ready.

He'll be the first OL off the bench if Spencer is still hurt. I assume they'll start Webb-Williams-Garza-Carimi-Scott.

I'm probably jumping the gun, but I wonder if Carimi plays well at guard -- they might just leave him there.

Cutler made some comments along the lines of maybe he's a guard on the Jay Cutler show earlier...

If he plays well at G then I'm all for it leaving him there. That means it's one less OL spot to worry about.

PFF seemed to be a big fan of Carimi at guard yesterday

One of the more puzzling moves this week came in Chicago with the Bears benching Gabe Carimi in favor of career disappointment Jonathan Scott. Due to an injury to Lance Louis on an interception return, Carimi’s time on the bench didn’t last long but Scott hardly covered himself in glory at right tackle. While Carimi has struggled as a pass protector at tackle, his run blocking has been as good as any right tackle in the league, and all Scott offered was an ability to excel neither in pass protection nor as a run blocker. Scott struggled to cope with Brian Robison off of the edge, yielding four pressures (1 Ht, 3 Hu) to the Vikings’ second-year starter and, unlike Carimi, he was unable to assert himself as a run blocker. Meanwhile, Carimi allowed no pressure as a sixth lineman, or at guard, and was as ever impressive as a run blocker whether he was dealing with a defensive tackle, defensive end or a linebacker. The Bears’ management of their offensive line is certainly something to keep an eye on moving through the stretch as they look to position themselves as contenders.

Ugh...2nd year in a row we hear about one of our offensive lineman having a really solid season, and then they go down for the year leaving the line in shambles. Hope you have enjoyed the scrambling this year Jay.

And then, like Williams, they will move him aside for a lesser player and cut him midseason for no good reason.

The Bears really like Louis. I could see them bringing him back for cheap once he passes his physical probably in August/Sept. If Carimi is solid at RG just gives u more options. Get linemen playing well and then figure out where to put them.

I still find it hard to believe that Chris Williams is worse than most of the guys they have played this year.
