He's a 22 year old kid who fell for something stupid and lied to not look stupid. I am sure everyone did something dumb in college, we just didn't have a 24 hour publicity on us. Give him a break.

And for everyone saying/thinking he made this up to help win the Heisman. GET REAL. He plays at ND, his grandmother really did die. He was the best/most recognized player on a great defense that helped the most publicized team to an undefeated season. He needed no extra hype. He would have had to plan this, then know that his defense would be great, and his team would go undefeated before even playing a game this year.

Ray Lewis is everywhere, and he is a convicted felon, who covered up a murder so his boys could get off.

AND teo had a facebook girlfriend....something seems off there.

While the last part may or may not be accurate (never proven, for sure), I don't think Ray Lewis has ever been convicted of a felony.

Correct and didn't he testify against his boys in order to be not charged with murder? It's been forever since I thought about that trial so my mind is a little hazy.

You are correct. He testified against the other two guys and thus only got a misdemeanor charge for obstruction. However, even though he testified against them they were acquitted of murder.

There's another reason why people are fascinated with the story and it involves the WWL.

dew, what are you hearing about Carl Lawson?

He apparently loved his visit to UT over the weekend and new WR recruit Ryan Jenkins is apparently working him really hard to commit to UT. We seem to have made up a ton of ground, but he's still taking his AU visit and nobody seems to really know what he's thinking.

That mesh with what you're hearing?

Pat Haden was at Eddie Vanderdoes' sister's high school basketball game yesterday.

College football recruiting is so weird.

yeah, he holds his cards pretty close to him. I have no idea whether he'll sign with Tennessee or Auburn at this point.

4-star/top-100 player Ezekial Elliott, the #1 recruit in Missouri and an Ohio State commit is taking an official to Mizzou this weekend. Not holding my breath but would be a nice get for Mizzou. Hopefully Abbington doesn't decommit, would be nice to still end up with a couple of 4-stars in this otherwise terrible class.

Ehh, didn't realize y'alls class was that bad. #32 class right now. Tennessee is only one spot in front of y'all and you aren't nearly as bad as Kentucky at #56 if that makes you feel any better...

Although now that I'm looking at it...#32 is about par for the course. Didn't realize Mizzou had such poor recruiting classes (at least as far as Rivals is concerned)

Those classes were fine for top-4/5 or so in the Big 12, but it won't work in the SEC. I believe we've lost at least two four-star guys from this class already. Puke.

Yeah, recruiting classes under #25 for a team in the SEC is permanent cellar dwelling territory. Hard to compete otherwise.

Well, y'all are a basketball school anyways, right?

I think at this point we're a softball school.

Football recruiting is just so hard to follow. You don't know what you've got until signing day, and even then it's not a sure thing. Purdue has a RB commit that was originally committed to UCLA. Now Tennessee has offered him but he claims he's sticking with Purdue. Purdue fans are badgering him on twitter about sticking to his word. If he did that he's still be with UCLA. :-k

Twitter is absolutely the worst when it comes to recruiting.

And he promised her a basketball scholarship (she's a freshman).
