Holy crap. Jeans tucked into boots. Jersey tucked into jeans. Trucker hat tipped back. I only see an 8 on the sleeve. Is that a Cade McNown jersey? Podlesh?

IIRC it was a Rex.

Rodgers is better. Stafford is not, and if you're saying Ponder is better...lol.

I hate to say this, but in terms of QB rating, Cutler is in the bottom 10. If we compare defenses and by having a Hall of Fame returner, we can clear as day see that he benefits by having shorter starting field position.

I root for Jay to prove everyone wrong and to play great for us, but not much has changed in the last few years.

I'm not convinced Stafford is all that good either, despite a very good year last year.

he just became the second-fastest quarterback in NFL history to throw for 10,000 yards, and is top-5 in expected points added this season, behind Ryan, Brady, Brees, Manning and ahead of Rodgers

I understand the differences in QB rating. But the QB's on the teams are asked to do very different things. Sure, from a high level they all have the same goal...score. But Jay is still working in a mostly broken, slowly rebuilding offense that doesn't protect well. I know what the numbers say, but I don't think that if you put either Stafford or Ponder on this current Bears team, they could do what Jay has been able to do.

I understand that I'm putting out an argument that is probably not well loved or respected on this board, since it deals in very subjective stuff, and ignores numbers. But I just don't buy that Cutler isn't as good a QB as Christian Ponder.

When I went to see the Cutler show, this guy had some awesome uggs on.

Your homerism reeks here. Stafford shouldn't be in the same sentence with any of those QBs right now.

Are you capable of conceding anything about your spectacularly mediocre team?

Except, wouldn't you know, there he is in a sentence based on completely objective information.

And I think you could make an argument that he's just as valuable as Matt Ryan....is that dumb? I mean Ryan only REALLY broke out when he got Julio and TGonz to go along with Roddy. Great running game too.

Stafford has CJ and no running game the past couple years.

That's obvious really a Packers fan in disguise. Possibly a halloween costume. No Bears fan dresses like that.

In an era where 10 players threw for 4,000+ yards last year. It's a heavy passing era. Doesn't mean what Stafford did wasn't impressive but its hard to be awed by all-time stats when passing has never been a bigger part of the game. Stafford is good and has the talent but I see him making bad decisions when he plays the Bears. He's still young though, considering his first what, 3 seasons were significantly lessened by injuries.

2.

Last year was his 3rd season. He's also only 24.

Also, it would be fair to point out that in his terrible game against the Bears last year, he was dealing with a broken finger on his throwing hand.

NFL insider John Clayton reported on ESPN Tuesday that Jay Cutler (concussion) is "doubtful" to play Monday night at San Francisco.

"It looks like he's probably going to miss this week," added Clayton. The issue with Cutler is that he reportedly has close to a half-dozen concussions going back to his college career at Vanderbilt. He's going to have more rigorous testing to pass than a player like Alex Smith, who does not have a history of concussions. Jason Campbell, with a slow release similar to Byron Leftwich, is a matchup dream for the 49ers fantasy defense.

Yeah, I agree that Ryan is better. Just thinking that if Stafford were on that team they'd still be nearly as good, especially if he were a tad more seasoned.

A slower release makes it easier for everyone, not just the 49ers defense.

I don't want Jay Cutler playing unless he's completely healthy. Not when there could be real danger to his entire career, and the potential benefit is 8-2 versus 7-3.

You should be relieved that they aren't tossing him out there.

Given how quickly Cutler's symptoms cleared up (the game was still going on) gives me hope that he can play. Wishful thinking probably.

Even if he can play, doesn't mean he should play. Better to give him a week.

"For some reason this season, and I don't know whose job it is, and I love our guys in the Chicago Bears organization that takes care of our fields, but I want to know this year who decided to keep the field so soft that it's been tore up the entire year," Gould said Tuesday night on "Football Night in Chicago" on ESPN 1000. "Let's put it to you this way: If I were a grounds crew superintendant, I think I would keep a little bit of an eye if they were calling for rain for six straight days, and I just might roll a tarp out on the field before the game.

"I don't know, maybe that's common sense. Maybe that's too tough to get done. I'm just saying I would do it. I would do it."
